Over the years, martial arts novelist Gu Long's classic hero Chor Lau Heung has been brought alive on the small screen quite a few times. A Hong Kong-Taiwan co-production, the aptly named Chor Lau Heung 2001 is sure to satisfy star-gazers. The charming Chor Lau Heung is always surrounded by beautiful women, and this time the list of females who weave in and out of his life include Anita Yuen, Gigi Lai, Kristy Yeung, Joey Meng, and Ruby Lin. The supporting male cast is just as strong with memorable performances by Mark Cheng, Ekin Cheng, Dicky Cheung, Daniel Chan, Eric Suen, Richard Ng Man Tat, and many other notable actors. In addition to the amazing cast, the innovative storyline, full of unexpected twists and turns, makes Chor Lau Heung 2001 an essential watch for period drama fans.
Raised by an adopted father, Chor Lau Heung (Richie Jen) knows nothing about his identity. To solve the mystery of his origin, Chor Lau Heung steals the much sought after amber Guan Yin statue and learns master Li Xin Huan's (Ekin Cheng) famous Flying Knives skill. Chor Lau Heung then becomes the target of many challenges and enemy attacks, placing him and his female companions in constant mortal danger. Chor's quest brings him to Annan, where he discovers his connection with the royal family. The end of this quest, however, only marks the beginning of more unanswered questions, as Chor and his friends are pulled deeper and deeper into a mysterious conspiracy threatening the martial arts world.

| Richie did a good job potraying romantic Chor, there is a sweetness in Richie. The story is quite good. If you are a fan of Richie, Gigi or Ruby - this is a good serie to watch :) |

What a cast, what happened?
| What a wonderful cast of GIRLS! The actresses from Ruby Lin to Anita Yuen, even CHeng Sai girl from Dukeof mount deer 2000! Great! How come they put them in such a lame story with a bad Chor Lau Heung and so many die. Really a shame that such a great female cast in such a horrible tv series. |

Misleading Cover
| The cover is very misleading because it shows a group of famous actors who come out for about 1 or 2 discs and they never appear again. I bought this movie because i saw such a well known familar cast of stars. It was very dissapointing. This movie is also very slow, there is lots and lots of talking, not much action or fight scenes. If i had known, i would not have bought this movie. The old one with Miu Kiu Wai as Chor Lau Heung is much better. |
