March 20, 2002 NO SORUM BUT KEEPS YOU INTERESTEDI bought this dvd with much anticipation, but I must say the movie didn't give me much "sorum" if at all. The director does a good job of keeping the audience for the most part, but the ominous mood that he creates never materializes and ultimately disappoints. The storyline has a good premise to be a great horror flick, and the director does a good job with the lighting, and the development of the characters who are peculiar yet believeable. If you are looking for any scary special/sound effects that will make you jump or long haired gui shin, then this is not the movie for you. The dvd does come in a very attractive case with cast interviews, and director's commentary (and a black and white negative strip--i can't tell what image is on it) and a bonus dvd of the director's early attempts at movie-making (not worth watching).....6/10 Did you find this review helpful?
