My daughter is four and loves this movie. She plays it over and over again everyday since I bought it for her. So this review is a 10. Stephen Chow is rarely in this movie. The storyline is well written and very entertaining for the children. For those who wants to see Stephen Chow movie, I would not recommend this movie. This movie promotes the child actor, and she is quite good. |

If you compare this movie to Chow's earlier work, you will be disappointed. But if you view this movie as Chow's attempt on kid's genre, it actually not bad at all on his first trying. The story is linear and solid with great message behind; each characters bring you a memorable impact. Its a wonderful and touching film for both young and old. I enjoyed this movie. |

| This movie is very boring. Not what you expect from Stephen Chow oldest movies compared to this trash. I wouldn't recommend this based in China movie and most of the movie, did not make any sense. Such a great disappointment! |

Great movie to share with family and friends... I bought a copy for my family and another for my best friend (I got her the poster and CJ7 plush toy combo) and it is really a great way to kick off this summer. :] Only downside I'd say was having to switch between Mandarin (everyone but Stephen Chow speaks Mandarin in this movie) and Cantonese. There's just something morally wrong about listening to Stephen Chow being dubbed over.... It's nowhere near as funny when having to switch the talented child actress Jiao Xu in Cantonese either. Those who've seen Shaolin Soccer have seen Stephen Chow speak Mandarin fluently; why didn't he just speak it in this movie, or at least allow the DVD to be released in its original audio? All and all, I enjoyed this movie and recommend it to anyone. |

| i think it's safe to say that stephen chow has successfully alienated just about all of his classic fans with this latest movie made for everyone else. shaolin soccer was acceptable and not bad and so was kung fu hustle. this movie was just like ??? and only a select few scenes made me laugh. one very shocking and sad surprise is that the movie is originally shot in mandarin, which totally screws with whatever left of his humor. i can only hope that he one day returns to his roots in making comedy flicks though it's not likely this will happen. |

Was just planning to review this movie when I thought I'd add this quote in with it, as it was pretty offensive: "he's probably white and he doesn't understand the true power of hong kong cinematography" I know that it isn't aimed at me personally (obviously), but I'm white (british), and I loved this movie. And yes, I am a fan of Shaolin Soccor and Kung Fu Hustle, but I also thought this was really funny, CJ7 was cute, and it nearly made me cry. I can see why it's not for everyone, but surely theres no room for racist comments on reviews for a family movie. All people have different tastes in movies, some people just need to accept that and open their minds a little. I could go on for a while about this but anyway, great movie, have already recommended it for friends, and starting to wish I'd bought the more expensive version with the free plushie, but that's just me. And btw, I know I mentioned other reviews, which I know I shouldn't, but the guy I quoted did it first. |

Boring....
Boring....
| I've been watching Stephen Chow movies since I was a child, and this has got to be one of the most over rated movies that he has ever done. It feels like I'm watching a rip off from some western movie and the humour is over cooked. Might be suitable for younger children as mentioned by other reviewers, but I think die hard fans will be disappointed with this movie as it really is a different flavour to Chow's other films. |

I thought CJ7 was quite fun, but it needed more Stephen Chow. The guy is hardly in the movie, and honestly, that's what I really wanted to see. At least the girl, Xu Jiao, is pretty funny, and the CJ7 creature is great, too. The comedy in this film is spot-on, and the drama is actually quite sad and touching. Overall, this is great for families or for those who like Chow-style humor. Too bad it doesn't have more Stephen Chow in it, though. |
