Love This
| This is a really good series. Love the effects love everything about this series. Love This! the story line was just like the old one and i have watched the old one so many times. There are just some changes but good change is good. This version didn't just copy the old one. It had its own style to the story which i think is really good. |

Condor Hero
| My parents and friends that I am a Wuxia Fanatic. I have read the first book (Legend of the Eagle shooting hero) except for the last chapter which I couldn't find in English anywhere ) : !!! I have also read the second book (Return of the Condor Heroes) once and am currently reading again. I really like the condor hero movie/TV show '06. It's somewhat different then the book bu it's still great. My favorite character is Eastern Heretic Huang Yaoshi but I' too young so I'm content with being little eastern heretic Xaing . I also like the movie because there's no kissing and a lot of fighting. Condor Hero Rocks!!! Next I'm going to read Heaven Directed Sword, Dragon Slaying Saber. Louis Cha is such a great writer. If you liked Condor Hero I suggest that you read Legend of the Eagle Shooting Hero which is all about Huang Rong & Guo Jing and Mu Nianci & Yang Kang. After reading it you'll understand Return of the Condor Heroes better and understand why Huang Rong hated Yang Guo's Father. |

THE CONDOR HEROES SCORES!
THE CONDOR HEROES SCORES!
| This remake of the condor hero is far more exceeding than any other prior remakes. The two main characters makes a perfect match. The story telling is easily comprehended and the music is just lovely. Personally I still like the original one with Andy Lau and Idy Chan, but this Return of the Condor Heroes is just as good. I'm sure if the two stars Huang Xiao Ming and Liu Yi Fei ever co-star again, It'll only be success! |

The best Condor Hero
The best Condor Hero
| This series is by far, the best series that Mainland China made. Even though by reading subtitle in English, I still enjoy the story and graphic. The graphic is more realistic than any other series of Mainland China. Though the dragon girl is a little younger than I expected. But the fighting and graphic has to come first, then the story. I think this series is better than the HK version of Luis Koo and Carmen because it is more like the original TVB series of Andy Lau. I would give this a rating of number 9. The only series that I think could beat this are the lendary four, semi devil ..., and Dragon sabre 200 all from TVB. This is the only series that can come close to TVB production. I think Tai Seng made a really good choice of marketing this product. I wish that more of these kind can come to the market for our consumer. And it can be even better if some of TVB's actors can join Mainland CHina production too. ALso the themesong of this movie is excellent -Wong Fei, Emil CHow, and I think Leon.....VERY GOOD!!!!!!!!! |

The best ever?
The best ever?
| It certainly is the best ever. Although some fans might question the series inconsistent speed with the novels, at least, it is very loyal to the story. Except for some other fighting sequences where it's hard to immitate in real drama, it's following the storyline closely. And mind you, Yang Guo here lost the correct arm, instead of the left arm by Andy Lau. |

A Disappointing Condor Hero
A Disappointing Condor Hero

Having watched the Mainland China version of Tian Long Ba Bu which is one of the best I've watched, I harbored high expectations for this one BUT I was sorely disappointed. The producers may claim that this is on of the most stylish martial arts series but the style get in the way of the story telling. In fact sometimes I find the STYLISHNESS silly and irritating. The scenery of Jiu Zhai Gou is breathtaking I'm sure but must every outdoor scene be shot in this place? Its make the sequence unbelievable. WXM as Yang Guo is irritating. In fact in some parts when he's supposed to be mischievous, he comes across as bad. LYF as XLN is passable becoz becz she's pretty enough. As XLN has been trained from young to control her emotion she is not expected to show too much emotion and thus LYF's "wooden" acting is OK. The pace of the series is too slow at some part especially at the beginning and then towards the end the pace seemed too hurried its almost as if the producers suddeenly realized that they do not have much time left and thus hurriedly tried to end the story. I've once heard that Mr Jin Yong hold his stories dearly.. I think he too would be very disappointed with this one. |

Only OK but beautiful scenery
Only OK but beautiful scenery
| I have watched multiple versions of Condor: Andy Lau, Louis Koo, Richie Yen, and now this one with Huang Xiao Ming. The best is still Andy Lau's version-- even though the series is over 20 years old and the CGI/fight scenes were rudimentary, Andy's series had a lot of character development and a flowing storyline. This version of Condor Heroes has lots of beautiful sceneries and special effects, but the story is disjointed. Some of the actors' make-up, hair and costume are too bizarre. Because all of the actor's voices are dubbed, it is very distracting because it doesn't sound like the actors. Also, in some scenes with the actor playing Yung Gor looks almost retarded (when he laughs). The actress who plays Siu Long Lui is very beautiful but sometimes her acting is very wooden. |

First 2-3 episodes = the most torturous episodes. It was rushed and messy, making it hard to understand what was happening. But the worst part was this Director's attempt at humor. The humor he tried to portray in the first few episdoes made wish I could wash my brain with soap. But good thing he doesn't get much into humor for the rest of the series. Everything past that was pretty good. Some cheesy CG's, and really cheesy dancing (aka. martial art practicing in the flower field for Yu Nu Xin Jing). Not so rushed and pretty enjoyable. I couldn't stop watching it. :) I thought all the actors did a great job too. Xiao Long Nu especially acted really well. Then you pass the "Flowers of Emotion" Canyon arch a bit and it starts to go downhill. It's still alright pretty much up to the point where Yan Guo gets the infant back. Then after that, it just became a whirling mess again. Xiao Long Nu gets mortally wounded and you have NO IDEA how. One second she was hopping around, the next second she's falling all over Yang Guo. My friends and I were just stumped. "How did she get hurt? When did she get hurt? How could she get hurt so terribly, and we have no clue how? Bad Directring... bad directing." Characters pop in all of a sudden fight together and romp together. Sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not, you have no idea where they came from. I've yet to finish the series, though I'm close to the end, but I do agree with many of the reviewers here that much of it is VERY rushed, and unless you have someone who knows the story explaining to you what's going on. You'll probrably get confused like me. I think it's a shame, I think they have a great cast, and Xiao Long Nu's actress is really good, but the directing is weak. I don't have much hope for an engaging ending... but we'll see. |
