inspirational
| I find this autobiography inspirational. I learned about this book from a 30 min TV interview with the author Koo Mei. I was never a fan of the singer: own some of her CDs but find most non-popular hits of her boring. However I cannot put down this book and will re-read it several times. I feel inspired by her courage and determination to pursue her call to be a painter; I can identify with her struggle with caring for her mother and balancing her career, her sense of aloofness and being introvert and the lessons she learned by taking such attitude. The book is logically organized and comfortable to read. The feelings are genuinely Koo Mei's. Despite claiming she likes being alone I sense she is never alone but surrounded by the ones she love and those who love her as she is sincere in her interactions with others. My only disappointment is: a lot of celebrities were mentioned in the book, except my favorite singer Tsui Ping. I had a magazine clip of her singing with Koo Mei in the popular TVB night show. |
