For as long as he could remember Carl Upchurch had been a criminal. Like so many other black men from his background, faced with a hopeless childhood he turned to crime and spent the formative years of his life in and out of prison. But locked away he discovered education and religion, and realized that he had the power to control his own destiny. If he could make young men like himself realize this then they too could turn their criminal lives around for the better.
Based on the autobiography “Convicted in the Womb”, CONVICTION boasts an all star cast including Dana Delany (Tombstone). Charles S. Dutton (Mimic, Alien 3). It stars Omar Epps (The Wood, Scream 2) as Carl Upchurch, a reformed Philadelphia thug who battled to spread his message of non-violence and bring together in peaceful discussion some of the deadliest gangs from across America.
