great ep! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
even though there's only 2 songs..and one of them is a music only..but i'd still find it great

jay chou is a really unique fantastic singer..his music is quite different from any artists in the industry

the main track for the movie starts with a traditional music..and then speeds up with a dark guitar feeling and his famous fast singing/rapping
it's an addictive track..but i didn't find it quite suitable to the mood of the movie though

i find the second track really really nice..the mood..musical arrangements..melody suits the movie very well..just listneing to the song gives me a mix of feelings..from sad to relax to fantasy

A New Performance Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Setting in the Tang Dynasty era, this film is full of revenges, loves, ambitions, and war strategy although the last one is only just a little. This is the classic first film of Jay. His acting as Prince Jay here is quite good, so do the other characters. The theme song, Crysanthemum Platform, is also an romantic and easy-listening song with the classical Chinese instrument, guzheng. I like it very much.

Great EP + MV DVD Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I've bought the TW Limited Version, and I LOVE THAT. The theme song to the movie Curse of the Golden Flower is in Rock style, which I find it interesting. Still, I like the song "Chrysanthemum Stage" more. The MV DVD contains 11 MVs which Jay Chou himself directs. You'll get to see the never-before-seen "Heart's Rain" and "Rosemary" MVs. What's extra for the limited version is the premiums inside, especially the bandana/scarf, which is a replica of the scarf that the army wears in the movie, which is symbolic in the movie. I truly recommends any Jay Chou fans, or fans of the film, to buy this.

Decent EP, Costly price tag Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Pres Chou delivers a decent EP once again.
The song 'Golden Armor' is similar to his previous movie theme-song 'Huo Yuan Jia': a rock flavored song combined with oriental tunes. The song is unsurprising, yet it has meaningful lyrics relating to Zhang Yimou's latest movie.
The other song on the EP is the piano version of 'Chrysanthemum Platform'. The reviewer finds the song easier to listen to compared with the vocal version.
The EP is packaged in a beautifully designed boxset with the two EP songs on a 3-inch cd plus a music-video dvd of his latest album. I have a problem playing the 3-inch disc on my pc since my hard-drive, and thus my cd-drive, is standing vertically: meaning that there is nothing to hold the cd in place :(
Finally, whether this EP is worth the money is rather subjective. If you're a Jay-fan, then you'll buy it anyway. Non-hardcore fans should probably think twice since the songs on this aren't as good as in his older EPs: such as 'Fantasy Plus' or 'Finding Jay'.
