- What is digital camera zoom?
- With digital zoom (also known as simulated zoom) the camera zooms in on the original image and uses interpolation to artificially restore it to the original size. For example: if a camera has 10x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom function, it means 100x zoom available in total. However, when using digital zoom, the picture quality of your photos will decrease, as you reduce the number of pixels within the same area.
