Sophisticated, Incomparable, Avant Garde, Spectacu Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Having possessed the ever-sophisticated drama, Dae Jang Geum is considered to have great fortune. Dae Jang Geum, though is a typical Korean drama which is in Korean language, which I think could scarcely understood by me, owns a very hatred yet a loving and touching background. It is difficult to embrace every feeling and background in just a single drama. But, this is the truth. An outrageous truth that lied in the Korean history. A gorgeous 8 year-old Jang Geum, could manage to bear all those evil incidents and people's act in the palace and finally grown into a famous physician of the king, therefore, would much be praised as a physically and mentally tough woman. Although, in this century, many ideas are proposed in to creating a good drama, but a global favorite, Dae Jang Geum is based on the history of Korea. From an initially worldwide-unknown history to a famous historical drama, the person who thought of this idea, should I say marvelous and brilliant? Congratulations, I would like to express to that person. Revere Dae Jang Geum as the best Korean drama I've ever seen, in my opinion, I would like to pen a last word in this excerpt: Dae Jang Geum, Sa Rang Heyo!

This drama series is just fantastic! To start with, the musical score is good, traditional costume is beautiful, storyline is very interesting, plots and conspiracies intriguing, the cast's acting is very good, and most of all the life's lessons learnt through this drama is unforgetable. Not the mention korean food, herbs and medicine. This drama is just so memorable! More so it is a historical true story of Dae Jang Geum which makes this drama so inspiring indeed. Kudos to the director, scriptwriter, cast esp. Lee Young Ae whose vivid and excellent portrayal of Dae Jang Geum is simply fantastic! The love story here is truly memorable too! Overall, Dae Jang Geum is the best korean drama ever!!!

Just fantastic Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I have never seen a korean drama series before. So when I started watching Dae Jang Geum, I do not know what to expect of it. After watching a few episodes, I find it very interesting and exciting. The more I watched, the more I liked it very much. Almostly everything in the drama is perfect, i.e the musical score, traditional costume, excellent acting, gripping plots and conspiracies, overall storyline, royal cuisine, korean herbalism and medicine. Kudos to the director, scriptwriter,cast, score composer and so on. As I continued to savour episode after episode, I realised that I became "addicted" to it! I told myself that this is the first korean drama series I watched and it's already the best I've seen. I felt in love with this series, esp Lee Young Ae and her lover. The love bwt them knows no bounds in spite of insurmountable difficulties. The fact that this drama is based on a historical true story about this girl, Jang Geum who from humble and poor condition, became the chief royal cook and mind you, also the royal doctor in charge of the King's health, and the first woman that is, in 16th century korean society where male dominance prevails in all level of society. Dae Jang Geum aka: Jewel in the Palace has thought me a lot of life's lessons. It has inspired me to persevere, to overcome, and to believe in yourself against all odds. It's not easy to forget what I have seen and learnt from Dae Jang Geum.

I grew up with really fantastic English and American dramas. Then its Japanese, Taiwanese and period pieces from HK..all great too! But when I watched Jewel In The Palace, all the other dramas pale in comparison! At my age it's pretty weird to be blown away- a really life-changing experience! Here, unlike the current American shows with in-your-face sleaze, you find old-fashioned romance(and a whole lot more) in a beautiful, tranquil surroundings..its refreshing and oh-so wonderful! I think 70 episodes is just too short. I couldn't bear to let Jewel go!

A GREAT DRAMA Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Knowing how I love korean drama series my hubby decided to surprise me one day by buying all 3 sets of Dae Jang Geum. We ended watching all the episodes together and finished the story in 5 days.

I love both the lead actor and actress in this drama and also all the ladies in Royal Kitchen. Even though this story is set in the Chosun Dynasty but the story of corruption and betrayal continues till this day and age. I love the romance that slowly blossoms between Jang Geum and Min-Ho. The child actors were great too.

There is much one can learn from this drama. If you have the budget and the time do not hesitate to buy this series. IT IS THE BEST!!!

The best drama series in the whole of Asia for a l Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Huge credit should go to the writer and director for making such thoughtful, historical and exquisitely detailed drama possible. In view of what you see
on tv, one must applaud the Korean TV Media to
encourage excellence in entertainment market to
make a production like this possible.
The director very wisely chose a very good ensemble
of actors to make his vision come to life. He
certainly made the best choice of actress Ms. Lee
Young Ae for the lead.
Miss Lee is certainly the very best Korean actress if not the whole Asia today. There are many beautiful
and good actresses. But very, very few if any
has her intelligence, charm and passion which she
demostrates in all her work. I believe it comes
from her good upbringing, her education background and her own hard work.
She is a treasure for Korea and certainly a most
welcome sight for those of us who are not Korean,
but enjoy wonderful productions from that country.

Jang Geum is a girl that is really talented and gifted in cooking and now one can ever take her spot. The man that Jung-Ho desires and loves has fallen in love with Jang Geum.Keum-Young saw everything, Jang Geum has taken the man that Keum-YOung loves since then Keum-young hates Jang Geum. I wonder why did Jang Geum become a physcician? Why did Jang Geum's best friend become the wife of the king and since she is Jang Keum's best friend i wonder if Jang Geum will get a lot of jewelries, money, or any high positions in the palacce?

Jang Geum is a girl about a girl's mother that was killed and her dad is in prison. Jang Geum went into palace and worked as a maid because she's trying to investigate who have killed her mother and is here to seek revenge.
