Captivating drama
| This is so far the best drama that I have watched this year. It is refreshing because it is a period drama and seeing HJW casting in a heroic role as compared to her role in "Memories in Bali" makes you wonder if they could really be the same person. She looks so much better in "Damo" with her minimal make-up. It makes my heart ache in every scene that the actors/actresses look at each other with such intense emotions. I love the scene especially when KMJ came back from the prison and recollects the tearing scene of HJW. I can feel the pain that he must be feeling. The ending is emotional and beautiful, which is typical of K-drama. |

Drama for Incest Worshippers

I have seen plenty of mello-drama (Winter Sonata, Stairway to Heaven, Ruler of your own World etc) and this is the worst show I have ever seen... In fact, it makes me sick to the stomach after finishing it. I honestly think that the author ought to be shot . In summary, this is a low budget drama filmed along classical times while incorporating modern elements into it which is mind bogling. AND WORST !!!... IT PROMOTES INCEST by worshipping the idea for crying out loud. This is absolutely sick !!! |

NO SOUNDTRACK
| WOW, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT THAT THIS SERIE IS SO DAMN GOOD, BUT THERE IS NO SOUNDTRACK CD FOR IT. I REALLY LOVE THE SONGS IN THIS SERIES, DARN IT. DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THE SONGS AT?? WANT TO BUY IT. |

One of the best series EVER!!

DAMO REVIEW: During the first part of this series you will get intrigue by the story, the setting perfect for the series. Its like CSI meets Crouching tiger hidden dragon, its modern and classic at the same time, the fight scenes are well choreographed and the cinematography is great. Im sure that the people who are not fan of martial arts drama or movie will like this series, the story is not that complicated and the scenes are easy on the eyes. You dont have to think that much about the story because its direct to the point. The story revolves around the 3 main characters, CHAE-OHK/ JAE-HUI (the daughter of a noble man who was in the depths of despair and killed himself.), JAE-MO/ JANG SUNG BAEK (chaes brother also the son of the noble man) and HWANGBO-YOON (the master chae served since she was young, the son of a mistress and a honorable man.). I must give Haji Woon my full respect and genuine appreciation for what she has done for this series; she really studied her CHARACTER and presented perfectly as if she was really Chae-ohk. I have watched her first in What Happened in Bali and saw her performance there and it took me by surprized that she did well in Damo, Damo was first shown in Korea than bali but the rate of peformance in uncanny, I may compare her character in bali but this is the best. She really acted as Chae-Ohk and that she delivered an exellent performance and once more I salute her. The series is a MUST-SEE! Everybody should watch this. The cast, crew and director did a great job putting up the story together and used every element of Drama, Action, Mystery, and Love story wisely. The story changes its genre from time to time so that the viewers wount get exausted listening to the same-old-story. I want to praise the musical scoring of this series, the timing was right and the score was applicable with the scene. Im not really good in expressing since this is my first review, but the movie is so fantastic and that this should have been made into a movie since it is could really make it because of its outstanding performance overall. I have watched many Korean series, movie that are drama but Damo is the only series where I cant even cry yet the impact is so heavy, you would want to cry but tears wount fall down. Its like the sorrow of your emotion is from the inside and that you want to burst-out and cry but you really cant. This series really did played with the viewers emotions, and after watching this series your morale will be down for a while. There are somethings thats been bothering me for a while like: *Why didnt Hwangbo say that he loves Chae-Ohk? *Why didnt Chae-Ohk recognize the blue lace that she found in Sung Baeks clothes? *Why didnt the rebel posing as a police killed Hwangbo when they had the chance in the mountain? * Why didnt Hwangbo marry earlier Chae-ohk so that she could change her social status and become a commoner again. The love between Chae-Ohk and Hwangbo is somewhat forbidden in Chae-Ohks side because she feels that she is unworthy of Hwangbos love because of her social status and that she feels that she is an obstacle for Hwangbo to reach is dreams and goals. Hwangbo felt the same way about her but all he can to is to hold her tight so that she wount leave his side. There are parts in this series that I really love like: *The part where they were trapped inside the cave, where Jang Sung-Baek declared his undying love for Chaek-ohk, and this is where Chae-ohk said that she love Jang sung Bak too and all the parts in the cave *When Hwangbo confronted Chae-ohk about her true feelings for Jang Sung-Baek and that he wants her to kill him so that she can be with him, showing her determination she tried to kill him but Hwangbo stopped |

SAME AS memories of BALI
| If you want a traditional tragic drama, This ones for you. This is not a feel-good movie but if you want to be transported to another era--this is your chance! The TV drama series is well crafted. It is almost comparable to hollywood cinematography! The actors here are very professional. |

Definitely A Most Outstanding drama
| The drama begins with the ending and I'm thinking--Oh no! Suspend all belief in the principles of physics--people really DO fly!! As the story progresses, it begins to wrap you tighter and tighter in the lives of its two major protagonists. It helps that the supporting cast are also great actors/actresses and play enough of a role so as to enrich the plot rather than dilute it. The period costumes are stunning as is the natural scenic location. Enjoyed learning of the era's "caste" system and appreciate some of the customs (such as all white worn at funerals!). I loved the music and am hugely disappointed that a separate CD is no longer available. The music is something I could easily listen to while reminiscing the scenes it evokes. Kim Min Joon is awesome--have since found out he is(was) Korea's #1 male model. If you enjoy sword fighting, Korean history, and your typical love triangle, this is a no-brainer best buy!! |

Stunning!
| It is one of the best dramas I have ever seen. The story is so tight; so it makes the story run fast. The music to heighten the dramatic effect is so great. The songs just interpret the leading actors/actress's moods. The lyrics are so touching. The story transmits a meaningful message - how lucky we are to live in modern society. Also, the scene has to be mentioned. The mountain view is beautiful. The only thing makes me feel bad is the ending. The ending is reasonable; but it is too sad. After watching this one, I am sure you will come away with a different sense of life.I give my thumbs-up to this drama. Every episode is worth watching and keeping. |

Concerning the scenes that were 'cut'

To the guy who said the yesasia version is cut, that isn't true. YES, there are scenes in the korean director's cut release that are not in yesasia's release but those scenes were NOT in the original series release (i.e. when it was aired on TV in Korea). Thus, this release is exactly what all the Koreans saw on TV (with the exception of English subtitles being included of course). The Korean Director's Cut is just that - a director's special edition that includes scenes he originally made but were edited out when the series aired (either to fit the time slot or because they were deemed unnecessary). The Korean Director's Cut also included more 'special edition' items with the NG scenes and cast interviews. So to sum it up, you're not missing anything by getting this DVD boxset - the Koreans just got a special literally director's cut release. |

yesasia version is cut
| this is one of korean best ancient series but the yesasia version is cut. about 1 to 2 min is cut for each episode of damo. why did yesasia cut it? i dont' know. they cut out most of the talking part which is important to me. u guys/gals should go find the korean dvd version which is uncut. |

Breath taking
| Wow! This is a drama that no one can say no to. It has everything from love to action... Best Recommanded for everyone to see.. the charaters especially Lee Seo-Jin wasa incredible.. you'll fall for his seriousness and sadness along with his voice. it will tear your heart and melt your heart at the same time...
