Beautiful music Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Here is a real treat for lovers of traditional Chinese music! The Butterfly Girls Band is no novelty act, no gimmicky knock-off of the 12 Girls Band. Instead, they are highly skilled members of the Zhejiang Nationalities Orchestra who play a wide variety of Jiangnan and Zhejiang style traditional music.

The album is generously packaged. Its helpful liner notes provide background information for each composition. The album also comes with a DVD of live performances.

This CD is notable for its mix of arrangements and settings for the various compositions; each tune is given a unique treatment so the album remains interesting throughout. The album also was beautifully recorded; the music sounds crystal clear. And, most importantly, the compositions are lovely, nicely mixing sprightly uptempo numbers and quietly expressive tunes.

If you enjoy traditional Chinese music, then you will enjoy this album. I'm alreadly eager for the next album to be produced by this talented group. Very highly recommended.
