YesAsia Editorial Description

Nagai Go's popular manga gets the big screen treatment in the live-action feature film Devilman. Director Nasu Hiroyuki mixes real actors with state-of-the-art CG effects to update the classic manga for modern audiences. The film's plot centers on Fudo Akira (19-year-old newcomer Izaki Hisato), his childhood friend Makimura Miki (Sakai Ayana, Battle Royale II), and his best friend Asuka Ryo (Izaki Yusuke) as they are thrust into an eternal battle for the very survival of the human race.

For centuries, demons ruled the earth. Eventually imprisoned in ice, these demonic forces patiently awaited the coming of Armageddon, when Satan would rise up and lead them to victory. With the ice thawing, things look grim for planet Earth, but thanks to Akira's pure heart, he is able to harness the power of the demon Amon to become Devilman, using his new abilities to fight for humanity. But as the demons return, where is Satan? He may be closer than you think...

Pretty Average Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
The film has a combination of CGI, anime and real life action. Film was poorly made, fans of the devilman comic will be extremely disapointed. If the film was full CGI and anime I would have given it a 4-5 stars.

not bad for hisato's first time acting! Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I thought this movie was great! I loved the cg effects, the storyline...pretty much everything! Hisato's acting was okay for his first time. He could've been better if he didn't have to act like a fake on some of the scenes. On the other hand, Yusuke did a great job playing a serious guy. His attitude and looks really pulled it off! The only reason why I rated this a 7 out of 10 was the ending. It could've been better if they had an alternate one. Overall...the movie's good and sad! This movie really made me cry because I have gotten into the emotions that the characters brought out. Not many movies like this makes me cry so I would definitely count this as one of my favorite foreigh movies. ^_^ So yeah..I would recommend this movie for anyone who likes the Izaki twins' boyband FLAME or action movies like X2!

For Devilman Fan only? Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
I wacthed this movie last week. Actually i'm not devilman fan, i even haven't seen its series. I just expect nice action of special FX from this movies just like other japanese fantasy movies like Casshern, Gamera, and Godzilla. In fact, the CG still look awful probably due to bugdet factor. And the most dissapointing is the storyline. Many flaws in plots. The director was unable to develop the character of each actors, because the time duration??Probably this movie is for devilman fan only. Try Gamera Trilogy, Godzilla GMK, Casshern, if you're looking for more entertaining one
