California-born A.I, a.k.a. Carina Uemura, is of mixed Japanese and Italian descent. Her family moved to Kagoshima when she was just three years of age and she has become an established R&B hip-hop singer ever since she debuted on the J-pop scene with the single Cry, just Cry in the end of 2000. Now she presents her sixth major album, Don't Stop A.I, which comes as follow-up to her No. 2 ranked Oricon bestseller What's goin' on A.I in September last year. It contains the positive tune BUTTERFLY featuring A.I with anchizakunoichi, Anna Tsuchiya, and PUSHIM. Other songs to look out for on A.I's new album are I'll Remember You and BRAND NEW DAY which were released in the summer as double A-sided singles and turned into a No. 13 hit. Last but not least, A.I's brand-new single ONE, which is the theme song to the Fuji TV drama Team Medical Dragon 2, can also be found on this new major work. Penned by herself, the song was composed by Matsumoto Toshiaki and produced by well-known Tomita Keiichi, a.k.a. Tomita Lab.
This edition comes with a 6-track DVD featuring MV and making of footage.

I'm pretty new to AI's music although I luv the current cd's I have of her Mic-a-horic and Feat AI. So I ended getting this album asap too. I must say comparing it with the 2 cd's I had it was kinda dissapointing. I feel Mic-a-horic is a better cd than this album. But even so I think iff this had been the firts AI cd for me I would have loved it just as much as Mic-a-horic and Feat AI. My favorite song on this cd is Butterfly next tot this I like the intro up to song 5. And then it's I'll remember you and the Get up remix. All the other songs didn't really leave a good enough impression on me. But even so it's a very good cd any AI fan should get the album. Or iff you're new to japanese R&B AI is a good artist to start with. |
