　　藩王高若天勾結番敵，為奪兵權圖謀篡位，請帝撮合其子子秋與兵部尚書之女周湘嬌，嬌不忿被迫婚，加上曾遭秋戲弄，要求秋入贅周家方允成親，婚後，嬌拆穿天的奸計，着秋帶兵平寇，將功抵過，天得免死罪。

　　Ko Yuek-tin, lord of the feudatory state, schemes to stage a coup with other border provinces. He seeks to summon military forces by asking the emperor to betroth Chow Sheung-kiu, the daughter of a military minister, to his son Tsi-chau. Chow, however, bears grudges against Tsi-chau who once teased her. She demands that the groom be married into her family and bear her family name. Chow sees through the conspiracy and asks Tsi-chau to lead a troop to pacify the invaders. Yuek-tin's crime is redeemed by his son's merits.
