Soooo classic
|
I enjoyed Come Drink with Me so much I hold it to other "old school swordplay" movie standards, so this one doesn't shine so brightly but it is sooo classic that you become entranced by the romanticism & ever ethereal Cheng Pei Pei. You want to cry out in Cheng Pei Pei's character's place at the end to Lo Lieh's character, "I'll wait for you!" |

Most Shaw Brothers classics are indeed top-notched. However, since June this year, the Singpore distributors had tightly controlled the release of these classics. Classics like Chu Yuan's " Clan of amazons" and "Duel of the century", Chang Cheh's " Singing Thief" and more are not officially released . What is pity ! So this swordplay epic "Dragon Swamp" becomes "valuable" . "Dragon Swamp" is one which comprises of thrillers, swordsplay, romance and some special effects. Also, Cheng Pei Pei, Lo Lieh and Yue Hua performances too are impressive. Highly recommended for all Shaw Brothers swordplay movies fans. |

Dragon Swamp

Another excellent performance by Cheng Pei Pei for the dual roles (as mother and daughter) in this box-office swordplay movie. Both Yueh Hwa's sentimental swordsman and Lo Lieh's villian images had again captured the viewers' attention. Despite of some minor flaws, the script overall is indeed successful under the direction of Lo Wei. Highly recommended for all swordplay fans. |
