YesAsia Editorial Description

Hollywood-level computer animation comes to Hong Kong with Dragonblade! Created by Hong Kong-located 3-D animation house DCDC, Dragonblade boasts an epic storyline, detailed 3-D character models, and some impressive voice talent for this maiden Hong Kong foray into the animated film sweepstakes dominated by names like Shrek and Finding Nemo. Featuring the voice talents of Daniel Wu, Stephen Fung, and Karen Mok, Dragonblade is a state-of-the-art animated experience that's distinctly Hong Kong!

The time is Ancient China, and young Lang (voiced by Daniel Wu in English, and Stephen Fung in Cantonese) embarks on a quest to save the village of Peach Springs from the vicious Boar King. Along the way, Lang meets a menagerie of colorful and comic characters, engages in a wushu martial arts tourney, and attempts to prove himself worthy of wielding the Dragonblade, a mystical weapon that could be the key to the Boar King's defeat! But first Lang has to contend with the mysterious female Night Thief - and also Ying Ying (voiced by Karen Mok), the most beautiful girl in Peach Springs. Hong Kong Cinema meets 3-D computer animation in the rousing adventure Dragonblade!

cool fights Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
What a trip watching animated characters fight like in those Chinese kung fu flims. Way more real then what they do on those fight games. Wish there were more fights ... but I guess this is one of those story based films, which is cool too. Gotta replay those fights though!

Dragon Brilliant! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
It's so good to see the effort that they put into movies from HK now. I have to agree with one of the reviews here that the movie posters were very misleading. They really had the wrong idea on how to market this movie. I was expecting some thoughtless kung fu flick for teenagers, but what I found was a movie with a lot of heart and told in a way that doesn't force feed morals to kids - which we all hate. The actions bits were very well done. I was surprised with how cinematic the scenes were, especially the fighting moment between the male and female leads. This is a movie that would capture the imagination of kids, while parents should find the scenes and especially the action quite engaging.

DragonBored Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
Judging by its title and the movie poster, you caouldn't help but imagine how the movie goes: A hero, looking for a legendary blade, so he set on an unforgettable journey with other friends (who has specific special powers)to fight evil monsters. Guess again. The entire movie has been a dissapointment. From the story line itself is good enough to bore you to death. Lack of imagination and focus. The characters are irksome and failed MISERABLY in generating cheap laughs. What could be an exciting and interesting movie turned out to be a disaster.
