Mrawh! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I -loved- this single. It had beautiful sounds to it. I loved Drain Away so much. I've been listening to Dir en Grey since I was 12 (I am 15 now..) they are one of my favorite Japanese bands.

Drain Away Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Dir en Grey's new CD is wonderfull. It is similar in sound to The Bottom of Death Valley in that it sounds heavy and lighter at the same time. I am glad that DeG has released a new CD and I can't wait until they release their next CD in April.

The best yet.. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I'm a musician myself, and I've been a devoted Dir en grey fan since the beginning. Even though I'm young (17) I've seen all the changes they've gone through; some may not agree with me, but Drain Away is by far the most captivating song I've ever heard from Dir en grey! For some reason, the heavy riff combined with the melodic vocals creates a feeling I can't describe. I love this song!! Definitely worth buying. =)

Excellent. Just excellent. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I love this song. Slow-paced and melodic...it's the sound that some of their songs (Myaku) used to have before Six Ugly came out...although I liked the sounds of the songs on that CD. Keep up the good work Dir en Grey ^_^;

absolutely wonderful!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
From the week before the song came out and i had heard only a few seconds of it, i was captivated, by the beautiful melody, the sad a soothing sound of kyo-san's voice. its an absolutely GORGEOUS song. truly not a waste of your money.

A Change from Child Prey and six Ugly.... Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
At first I thought this song was way too unlike Dir en grey's style of hard, pounding rock and Kyo's screaming vocals. The title song, "DRAIN AWAY" seemed more pop/mainstream, as though they were trying to appeal to more listeners, or something along that line. However, the song isn't really that bad, even though I think some Dir en grey fans may be a bit disappointed with this single.

Mixed Feelings Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
The original Drain Away single is pleasing and disappointing in several different ways. Drain Away is a nice, creatively fresher start compared to the last release, Child Prey. It has the underlying tones of creative rock from the Macabre era, yet with more of a western, mainstream rock feel (like sixUgly) too. It has a great (yet unoriginal) underlying rhythm, and strategically pleasing breaks. The guitar is rather disappointing, as Deg is quite famous for their original, inspiring guitar. The guitar in Drain Away is distracting rather than boosting; it takes away from the vocals and the whole unity of the song.

The remixes on the album are horrible. The second remix, nothing--it's like one tune played over and over...kinda like the begining of hotarubi off Macabre. But for an extra 4 minutes. It's horrible. There isn't even vocals-and if there is, you can't hear it very well. The third track gets better towards the end, but it can't justify the begininng. Both were remixed by Kaoru, who is obviously suffering a block following his great remix of Cage. The fourth, a remix of Jessica, is utterly disguting! It's a major "What the fuck!?" It's more pop that Hamasaki Ayumi. It's like...old-timers casino music. I'm just glad to know that none of the Deg members mixed it.

GREAT~!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Fans who feared that Dir En Grey turning Nu-Metal (into another Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park) from their last mini-CD release Six Ugly, don't need to worry, they are back~! (glad it was only experimental) this single has great drumbeats, power chord riffs, and melodic vocals!!! the best elements of Six Ugly (heavy riffs), Kisou (experimental sound), Macrabre(dark) and Gauze (melodic) can be found here!! the new album sounds promising the only complaint is miss the great guitar solos and bold basslines, hope the album will have them. Keeping J-rock Visual Kei scene alive~!!
