January 10, 2009 Is this a joke?!Surely this has to be a joke?!
I really can't imagine any record labels in other markets (apart from the Hong Kong market) releasing records where the singer can't even sing in tune. How did this guy even get a recording contract?
Assuming there are no other forces at work (which is a HUGE assumption given how the recording industry in Hong Kong works), this has to be ruining Bosco's career rather than aiding it. It was painful enough watching him trying to have a "sing off" with Eason Chan at the 2008 JSG Top 10 Awards - has anyone who is not deaf seen the guy try and hit his notes? It was like watching an episode of "The Office" except that Bosco wasn't acting. So he can't sing live, but if Britney can pull of an album surely you'd think that they can do something to make him sound passable.
But I've listened to a few tracks on this album and I'd bet a lot of people would rather listen to someone give birth. Bosco would be one of the people on American Idol that the judges tell that his mother lied to him when she said that he could sing. And this album....I suppose it's okay if you're done deaf and you just want to look at his pretty face on the cover.
Some TV stars can sing and make the crossover, like Bowie Lam, Nick Cheung and though Louis Koo was not great, he didn't sound like he was dying a slow death. I feel stink for Bosco, he either thinks he can sing or he owes someone a lot of favours!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
