Jin Tian Yi Sha Ren Shi Jian 12
June 18, 2008 No Crime Without A ReasonThis review is intended to write about Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo as a whole, not just on this particular episode. Japanese are known for their detective stories, but somehow I feel that what they are really interested is to fool the audience. All the clues were meaningful only to Kindaichi, not others. Until he explained the plot to us at the end, no one wouldve guessed it. The same thing is also true for other detective dramas such as Trick. They dumb the audience first and then expect to be praised for the cleverness. Another observation is the view the Japanese hold for the perpetrator. I dont know whether it is only for the dramatization or not. It appears that they always justify the doing by portraying the perpetrator as committing the crime out of necessity; that is, it is either revenge to the victims who had earlier caused great misfortune to the perpetrator or killing out of some deep-rooted psychological complex. Furthermore, they glorify the perpetrators by letting them die in a heroic manner. Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo is a series of classic and well-done Japanese detective stories in which one learns how a culture treats a universal genre like mystery in her own unique way. (1)Our Price: US$28.49Usually ships within 7 daysJune 18, 2008 What Was Said Other Than LoveThis is a TV series full of reflections. It not only reveals the evolvement of woman rights in Japanese society over the past hundred years, but also examines the conflicts between staying alive and losing face in a period where they lost the war. A lot of questions were asked and most of them not answered. The second part of the series, though at a slower pace, is most thought provoking. It seems the war has left a wound that never healed on the Japanese. The logic on the third part is a little bit off. Asking forgiveness after abandoning some one for years is too much. The person should've done better than that. Except this flaw the third part is the most entertaining, very witty. Overall, it is an excellent series; the quality of a virtuous woman described in the TV applies almost to all Asian women, a good piece to watch for understanding the culture of oriental women in a forever-changing world. That is how it feels after watching the film. Set in the backdrop of an L. A Korean town, this film tells a story too real to be pleasant. Yea, immigrants come to America with all sorts of dreams, as well as all sorts of baggage they prefer to leave behind. When free from somebody becomes loneliness and love somebody means bring harm to the person you love, then love is no longer beautiful. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
