"You're The Voice" Cantonese Version Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
John Farnham - the Australian pop singer who was well known back to "Sadie, The Cleaning Lady" back in 1967 when he's in his late teens, made a comeback solo singing career with the album - "Whispering Jack" in 1985 with the one the cover songs - "You're The Voice". John still sings occasionally after he'd semi-retired from singing as from the last two years. One of is latest gigs was with Welsh pop singer who's well known for the song "Pussy Cat" (some title like that) - Mr. Tom Jones. Michael Kwan sings the Cantonese version of this song (track 8), which wasn't as powerful as our John, therefore it doesn't sound as good as the original. Sometimes the original is hard to top. Track one, "The Pearl of the Orient" isn't as good as the Mandarin version sung by many singers. I like track two which was sung by Albert Au, Lowell Lo and Michael. Track 3, is okay. Still the Mandarin version is better. track 7 is by far (in my opinion) the best song out of this song, because he breaks away the usual mode of singing he's accustomed to singing and the singing we're accustomed to hear him sing (love ballads). This song is the most masculine song, with a bit of rock music and Michael pull off this act admirably. Track 9 is a nice love ballad adapted from another English pop song "All At Once". Track 13 is a nice gentle love ballad. Track 15 - the Cantonese version of "Only You" is a passable effort from Michael. The original English version is better. Track 17 - "Clouds From One's Eyes' Perspective" (Ngan Lui Dik Wun Choi) is a beautiful ballad. The last song sounds like a finale song for grand stage musical. Sung by Alan Tam, Jenny, Michael, Sandy Lam San-san, Jacky Cheung, George Lam, Chan Mei-ling, Wong Ngar-man, Johnny Yip, Dominic Chow Kai-sheng and Choi Fung-wah; this makes a nice song for world peace. Other songs are pretty good. The selections of songs, as I agree with the previous reviewer, aren't as good as Michael's years at the former PolyGram (now Universal Music). "Love For the Motherland" (Dai Dei Yun Ching) recorded back in 1980-81 period was definitely one of the highlights of Michael's career, and this song won my favourite pop singer, Jacky Cheung (back in 1984) the "Hong Kong's 18 Districts Singing Competition", in which a year later, led to a career with PolyGram and he's been singing ever since. I give this album of Michael's an overall rating of 8/10. Pretty good.

Song Of Peace Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
Track 18: Song Of Peace (International Year Of Peace Concert Theme Song) - sung by Alan Tam, Jenny Tsang, Michael Kwan, Sandy Lam San-san, Jacky Cheung, George Lam, Chan Mei-ling, Wong A-man, Johnny Yip, Chow Kai-sang and Ken Choi; sounds so good. My other favourite tracks: 1, 2, 9 and 17. While other tracks are just okay. Some tracks just aren't my cup of tea. His Chinese rendition of our John Farnham "You're The Voice" is not as powerful as the original. The Chinese title is "Old Capital". Otherwise an average album. I prefer his earlier works at PolyGram. Changing record companies may also change a singer's fortune.

A class act!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Finally!! The 2 EMI albums Michael released in the mid-80s have long been out of print on CD, and this EMI "Best Collection" have almost all the songs from them. While the songs presented here are not as well-known as those on his previous Philips/Universal releases, they retained Michael's smooth vocals while adding a touch of "risk taking" in the choices of material. The song "¸ô" (track 7), a cover of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer's "Touch and Go", will be remembered as one of the best rock vocal performance in HK pop history, while "ªF¤è¤§¯]" (track 1) and "°Fªº±Ò¥Ü" (track 2) is smooth and dignified. Other tracks such as "¥j³£", "¥u¦³§A", and others continue to feature Michael's trademark vocal stylings and smooth delivery. I wish EMI put in Michael's duet with Danny Chan, "¥½°Ûªººq", on this CD as that would be a better song to show off two of the best HK pop singers. In the end, this is a great compilation of Michael Kwan's EMI output. If you are tired of today's bubblegum HK pop, get this CD to hear what real singing is all about.

Thank you Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
So the last song is titled - Song Of Peace. Thanks.
By the way, great song. Sounds like a song from a musical. So long and so grand. Runs for 5 minutes and 33 seconds (according to Jenny's '86 album).
