Empyreal Doctor (DVD) (Taiwan Version) DVD Region 3

A biographical film about the reputed Chinese orthopedist Guo Chunyuan (1923-2005), who took part in building three hospitals, donated 13 ancestral medical formulae to the state, and trained close to 200 disciples in his career as a medical doctor that spanned six decades. His mercy and sympathy for the sick and poor, his selfless devotion to medicine earned him praises from his peers and patients alike, who regarded him as "the Soul of Chinese Orthopedics" and "the Great Doctor for the Masses".

Penned by famous screenwriter Zhang Fang, the touching film was co-directed by Huang Shan and Zhu Zhaowei in 2006, with acclaimed actor Wang Kang playing the title character, and Liang Danni, Wang Qianhua, and Xiao Yang as his wife, daughter, and son respectively.
