  • Your Name. (2016) (DVD) (English Subtitled) (Hong Kong Version) DVD Region 3 Shinkai Makoto (Director) | Kamishiraishi Mone | Animation | Kamiki Ryunosuke
Long hailed as the future of Japanese animation, visionary filmmaker Shinkai Makoto delivered Japanese cinema's miracle story of 2016 with Your Name, which topped the box office for nine consecutive weeks on its way to becoming Japan's second biggest film of all time, behind only Miyazaki Hayao's Spirited Away. Continuing the aesthetics and themes of films like The Place Promised in Our Early Days, 5 Centimeters Per Second and Children Who Chase Lost Voices, Shinkai's blockbuster crowd-pleaser incorporates intriguing fantasy and sci-fi elements into a wistful coming-of-age romance rendered in breathtakingly beautiful and detailed animation. Moving, comedic and mysterious all at once, Your Name won Best Screenplay at the 40th Japan Academy Prize, and the hearts of audiences throughout Asia.

Soon, they realize that the dreams are real, and they're actually swapping bodies! Through living each other's lives, Taki and Mitsuha begin to form a close bond.
