  • The Map Against the World (DVD) (Korea Version) DVD Region 3 Cha Seung Won (Actor) | Yoo Jun Sang (Actor) | Gong Hyung Jin (Actor) | Nam Ji Hyun (Actor)
Blockbuster director Kang Woo Suk (Public Enemy) shows the birth of "Daedongyeojido," the greatest map of Joseon, in his first period picture The Map against the World, based on Park Bum Shin's novel Gosanja. Screened at the 2016 Busan International Film Festival, the 19th century-set movie narrates the story of legendary geographer Kim Jeong Ho, who devoted all his life to map-making. Cha Seung Won (Man On High Heels) takes the lead role of the respected cartographer and Yoo Jun Sang (Angry Painter) co-stars as his political rival, the King's father Daewongun.

Considered a symbol of power, maps are tools of the government and ordinary people are forbidden from owning maps in the late Joseon dynasty. Following his late father's footsteps, geographer Kim Jeong Ho (Cha Seung Won), also known as Gosanja, travels through the Korean peninsula and draws a large-scale map that is accessible to ordinary people. He even creates woodblocks for easy printing. However, regent Daewongun (Yoo Jun Sang) plans to seize the map to get the upper hand in a power struggle.

Deranged director Park Jung Woo opens the Pandora's box of government impotence in a nuclear-themed disaster blockbuster that reminds of the 2011 deadly earthquake disaster in Fukushima, Japan. Lee Kyung Young (Inside Men) co-stars as a corrupt Prime Minister and Kim Myung Min (Proof of Innocence) as an incompetent President.

Jae Hyuk's (Kim Nam Gil) father and elder brother worked in a nuclear plant and eventually died of radiation. Despite bitter opposition from his mother (Kim Young Ae) and girlfriend (Kim Joo Hyun), Jae Hyuk is forced to work in the station as well. One day, a massive explosion occurs after an earthquake. Since the government doesn't have a contingency plan to save the victims, Jae Hyuk and his co-workers decide to return to the power station to prevent another explosion.
