From normal comedy director Chu Yen Ping comes End of the Road, a harrowing and deadly serious war drama. Set during the Chinese occupation of Burma, the film details the trials of various Chinese stuck in a lawless, morally compromised world at war. Award-winning actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai is a rogue officer who goes turncoat to work for a drug cartel run by Ray Lui Leung Wai. Normal comedy actor Richard Ng Man Tat turns in a dramatic performance as a veteran who finds romance with Rosamund Kwan, a woman whose past may hold deadly secrets. Co-starring Taiwanese popstar Jimmy Lin, End of the Road is a movie that portrays no glory in war, only an abundance of blood and the loss of any real humanity. Director Chu Yen Ping pulls no punches, giving End of the Road brutal violence and rare dramatic weight that's unexpected for a star-packed Hong Kong film.

The Sergeant of the Anticommunist National Army Tang, was captured in a Burmese-Communist war. He came across Fan Lun and Ya Din. The three people fled to Army He Zhi-jian.
At that time Tai Bei Communist came to power and He’s army was forced to set off to fight against the communists. He’s army won the Pyrrhic’s victory and Ya Din died in the battle.
After He’s army successfully went to Tai Bei Communist Army’s place, their prior mission was to kill Commander Lou......

I love this guy ! He is one of my favourite " Hero " ! And the film itself is good enough to see it. But Tony Leung makes the movie adorable. Very charismatic actor ! You like war - movies ? Then I can recommand it. But prepare it, if you are Chinese, then some scene will makes you sad. |
