Energy 2006 Album

Energy is back with their seventh album, and there are many surprises awaiting fans. Energy has undergone many transformations in the last few years. Starting as a five-member boy band, the group lost founding member Toro after their third album. Last year, A-Di was injured and called up for army duty, leading to a teary farewell to fans and a sixth album ominously titled Final Fantasy. Despite many rumors of break up, Energy returns a year later, one man short. Excused from army duty, A-Di was able to return to the group, but leader Milk unexpectedly left the group.

Though left with only three members, Energy is as strong as ever with their latest album, which highlights both their signature Mando-pop/hip hop dance numbers and evolving musical style. Composed and produced by Adia, title song "Ape Humans" (Track 1), an eclectic, fast-tempo rock dance number, captures the album's sci-fi fantasy design and themes of survival and evolution. Adia also contributed the upbeat, youthful "Love Weather Balloon" (Track 6) and "Drifting Rumors" (Track 7), a crescendo-filled rock ballad that shows off the group's singing and harmonizing abilities. For "Kill in a Second" (Track 3), the group collaborated with their good friends Mayday for a catchy, energetic number that combines Mayday's infectious pop rock and Energy's fusion hip hop. Singer-songwriter Steve Chou also wrote two songs for the album, "Defeated" (Track 10) and "The Best" (Track 5), which was penned by Shu Wei.
