A blue-haired Kate Winslet and a remarkably restrained Jim Carrey play a couple who have taken extreme measures to forget each other, and their quest for memory loss manifests in stunningly memorable images on screen. Defying any easy genre labels, this chaotically urgent and darkly funny film features brilliant cinematography, an award-winning screenplay by Charlie Kaufman (Adaptation, Being John Malkovich), and fine performances from the leads and supporting cast, including Kirsten Dunst, Elijah Wood, and Mark Ruffalo.

After a harrowing break up, Clementine (Kate Winslet) chooses to erase her memories of boyfriend Joel (Jim Carrey). When Joel receives a postcard from the memory clinic informing him that he has been erased, he decides that he too will erase Clementine from his mind. As he undergoes the procedure, his mind takes a frantic, kinetic journey through his past, jumping from distorted childhood memories to hazy happy moments with Clementine.
