One of her best
|
I've been following Bonnie Pink since many years ago and what can I say? She is improving more and more. This album is one of her best, I won't say it's the best because she has another amazing albums. Bonnie Pink is one of those few singers who have never made me disappointed. She comes again with great melodies and lyrics, emotional lyrics as always. It's amazing how she isn't losing creativity at all. When you think she can't get better, she comes with better and better stuff. I also loved her previous album "present", but I agree with people that this one is even better. Great album. |

Makes up for Present and more!

I was disappointed by Bonnie Pink's last album, Present. Even So more than makes up for it! Every song on this album is good. The only con I can think of is using the hook from Olivia Newton John's "Physical" as the opening to 1 2 3. Everyone should buy this album! Last Kiss, Ocean, New Dawn, 5 more minutes, Private Laughter, Mint..... all incredible songs. |

good bonnie pink

in my opinion, to be passionate about bonnie pink's music, you have to be able to appreciate either the carefree, yet soulful, atmosphere evoked by them or the brilliance of the logic within them, or, of course, both, as i have always found it devilishly hard to relate myself emotionally to them. tracks that stand out may well be "private laughter" and "new dawn", while track 2, 4 and 5 are good and all the rest are decent. |

Here's my review of Bonnie Pink's 7th studio album "Even So": "Private Laughter" - the first single off this album. An upbeat track with a catchy chorus. The song goes by so fast, clocking in at 2:59, making it the shortest track in the album. "Ocean" - a really nice track. Probably one of the most outstanding tracks here besides "Last Kiss". Very relaxing and catchy (It was evident in the liner notes that she was inspired by Hawaii and I think it shows in this track). "New Dawn" - A happy, upbeat song. Listening to this track makes you just want to bop your head or thump your feet. "5 more minutes" - the b-side to her single "Last Kiss". Another outstanding track. You can just sing-along to the chorus since it's catchy and it's in English. "The Answer~Hitotsu ni naru toki" - starts of with a really chilly, ominous vibe, then Bonnie charges on with her powerful lyrics at full speed and when you get to the chorus, she just goes on much faster, almost as if she's singing jibberish. This track has some funky bass on it. "I just want you to be happy" and "Bedtime Story"- two mellow tracks completely sung in English and it perfectly compliments Bonnie's sweet voice. "Mint" - another one completely sung in English. Starts off kinda weird, like some background music to a detective film, then it gets better when you get to the chorus, which features a horn section. "1.2.3." - the b-side to her single "Private Laughter". Another upbeat fast track from her. "Last Kiss" - her most recent single, which is also the ending theme song to the anime series "GANTZ". One of the most outstanding tracks in the album and possibly one of the best singles of the year. Very emotional and her vocals here is just perfect. The song also features an orchestra section, which makes it even more grand. "Walk with you" - just a standard Bonnie Pink track - drum, bass, guitars with a hint of a subtle "twinkling" sound effect. "Jinsei GAME" - another upbeat track that comes close to being 'rockish'. Overall, a great CD, as expected with Bonnie Pink. She always has a knack for releasing great stuff since her debut. Highly recommended. |
