Tiger claw & crane styles rule Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Executioners from Shaolin" is an entertaining retelling of the familiar story: Refugees from Shaolin confronting their evil Qing overlords.

Chen Kuan Tai, Lily Li, Wang Yu, and Lo Lieh all do terrific work in this film. There are some odd twists to the kung fu here. For example, there is an extended scene showing Chen Kuan Tai using his best tiger claw techniques to try (and fail) to pry open Lily Li's legs on their wedding night so he can consummate their marriage. And there is Lo Lieh, as the evil "White Brows", whose favorite move is to let people kick him in the groin; he then somehow grasps their foot with his crotch, drags them around, and destroys their knee with a well-placed chop.

Yes, some of the action is downright goofy, but there also are some amazing skills on display here and just enough of a story to keep the viewer interested.

All in all, "Executioners from Shaolin" provides an evening of solid entertainment for martial arts film buffs. The DVD also includes an interesting demonstration video showing a variety of kung fu techniques performed by big Shaw Bros. stars.

history in the making Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
It' rare the a kung fu flix has good fights, story, training sequences and acting not to mention directing and producing! This one has all of the above. Yes it's old, but it represent exactly what martial arts movie fans expect from old school kung fu flix. Some may prefer the eye candy of the late 70's and early 80's flix but E.F.S will stand the test of time. Chan Koon Tai is a authentic kung fu practioner, so it make the movie credible. Not to mention a young Lau Kar Leung choeregraphing what I believe will never see again in our days: real kung fu backed up by strong values. Water my friend, be like water B.L

Good shaolin martial arts masterpiece Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Chan Koon Tai is performing excellently but Wang Yu as his son seems lack of charisma as a main cast. Gordon Liu should be a better replacement for the role. Lo Lieh acts as the devil "ba mei" master is a well-done role. Overall is good.

One of the Best Kung Fu Films Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I love Shaw Brothers films. This is considered one of the best Kung Fu films I have ever seen. The action and the story are excellent.

Forget about Jackie Chan or Jet Li. Chan Koon Tai is simply the best actor in this era and forever more.

Highly recommended!

Shaw Brothers Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
For me "Shaw Brothers" is the best company in producing Kung Fu movies, so I was very sad about it, that they stop doing cinemamovies, instead of this, only on TV. Why they stop doing business with the cinema ? Were they unsuccessful ? What was the reason ? Can anybody help me !

To the "Executioners From Shaolin", You have to excuse me, if I say that: "I've seen such many supreme "SB" movies, that I was disappointed watching this movie twice in Englisch."

Executioners from shaolin Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
An excellent kung fu movie ! One of best directed by Liu Chia Liang with superb stunts by Chen Kuan Tai, Lo Lieh and Wang I. However, the quality of the Celestial vcd seems to have deteriorated ( as bad tracks could be seen ). Since the beginning of 2004, almost Celestial newly released vcds such as the "Forbidden Past", "Chinatown Kids", "New tales of the flying fox" and " Imposter"... what a disappointment !
