    A very bright future: "F Debut" ~ Fiona Sit Hoi Kei

    Warner girl Fiona Sit, probably the most eye-catching lady rookie singer this year, has recently released her debut album "F Debut". Being extremely marketable among the teens, the record sales has been remarkable. That sees Fiona an instant hit among teenyboppers and puts her in a much better position for future development as a star singer than any other this year.

    The fact that Warner (HK) decided to put up Fiona's debut release as an album, instead of an EP, says it all. Nowadays, rookies usually first release one, or even several, EPs to test the market before having any hope for an album. So, either Warner (HK) has made a miscalculation, which is unlikely, or they are very confident on and supportive to Fiona.

    There are ten brand new tunes and one mixer version in "F Debut". Good to say, the quality of the album is high, the songs are not ordinary at all and do stand out from the others because of Fiona's style. Fiona is youthful, bright, enthusiastic and charming, she has all the qualities of a modern young lady - being independent and fashionable. Fiona has the unique voice and the style to become successful though she needs to drill her singing skill at the momnet. Afterall, as a rookie singer, her voice and way of how she interprets the songs are green.

    As for the songs, "XBF", referring to "ex-boyfriend", is Fiona's first ever leading track. It is an appealing ballad and Fiona's performance is impressive too. "Keanu Reeves' Reply" (Track#3) is good too in terms of Fang ShuLiang's music and Wyman Wong's lyrics. The setting of "A Kiss from Madonna" (Track#2) is elegant and flowery.

    "Hibernate" (Track#8) and its English version "Vie Ya" (Track#11) are both nice though the present reviewer prefers the Cantonese version to the other. As for the others, "Ugly Duckling Swan Lake" (Track#7), "God Is A Boy" (Track#4) are also worthy of paying attention to. Unfortunately, the music and lyrics of "Hurried" (Track#5) are not as good as expected.

    Recommendations: "XBF" (Track#1), "Keanu Reeves' Reply" (Track#3) and "Hibernate" (Track#8)

     Canto-Pop Wonder Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
    Although I'm a little late reviewing this wonderful CD, Fiona Sit truly is the Canto-Pop wonder of this age. Most of the songs are ballads, which are so heartfelt and touching, accompanied by beautfiul music. The lyrics are very special too, not only about love but about these strange/cute subjects like "Ugly Duckling" or "Madonna's Kiss". Her pronounciation is great too. Each note is truly magnificent. I HIGHLY recommend this album for all Chinese music listeners. But I have to admit, Fiona is one strange girl with the lyrics and drawings/doll ;) Her voice is great!

    First, let me thank YESASIA staff for locating this CD for me even though it was out-of-stock for awhile. It was wonderful of them to track it down for me. And also well worth the additional wait to find this gem! I hesitated initially about purchasing this, because the site reviewed this as a "teeny bopper"-type release. Well, I am 30 years old, and I adore it! It sounds extremely mature and well done. I am blown away at this being a DEBUT! This girl has far to go in the music industry if this is her start. She is amazing. I thought because of the "teeny bopper" statement that her music would be hiphop or childish and her vocals would be pitchy and sqeeky...neither is the case at all. The music is beautiful and relaxing and her voice is like a gentle caress of breeze. I can only hope Fiona releases a new CD soon. But please, don't package it the way this one came. The box fell apart and the CD was solid white, which leaves no room for identifying side labels to find it in my collection. I hope her next CD will come in a standard jewel case. The photos were nice though...she's a lovely girl and I wish her the best. BUY THIS CD! You are missing a jewel if you do not own this. I think anyone who is a fan of Tanya Chua, Gigi Leung or Vicki Zhao would also find this a magnificent CD. Again: all I can say is WOW!

    This AVCD is quite good but the thing is it has all the songs before in the F Debut so i don't think its worth buying!Her mandarin song sounds alrite but i hope she can learn more mando so she can improve more in her next cd!

    pretty good as a new singer.. though her singing skill is a little shaky on high voice part, but overall, it's an impressing CD, better than Twins, whose singing is same in every CD. Through i think it's the people that writes lyrics, make the songs make this CD impressed than really Fiona. But she did perform good in some songs, singing in a teen girl voice, which have many room for improvements. a bright shining star of the year, she must be the one!
