Once Again!

This has to be my all time favorite full FT Island album. Barae 'I Hope' is the release single and I must say that it's really uplifting and makes me happy. If I'm having a good day, I listen to Barae. If I'm having a bad day and want to cheer up, I listen to Barae. lol ^_^ The overall song just makes things brighter and I really like seeing this change with FT Island. Track 6 Gyeolhonhaejweo 'Marry Me' is another upbeat song that caught my immediate attention. The lyrics are sweet and make me smile. Track 10 Monani 'Ugly' is another nice happy feeling track as well. Track 11 Nanui Sokdo Moleeugo 'Make Little of Others' is a gorgeous ballad that had become my favorite song after Barae on the album. The piano sounds so heartbreaking and the opening melody of Lee Hongki's singing immediately gives you the feel of heart break. I also love the composition of the acoustics and I truly praise the maker of this song. I actually really don't know why this wasn't a released track. (Some other nice soft ballads are Track 7 Kkokeun Anideolado... 'It's Not Neccessary' and Track 9 Bonaejugi ' Send Away'.) 2009 is a good year for FT Island and I hope they get rightfully acknowledged for their hard work this year at the award ceremonies. ^_^ PS The repackaged version of this album (Double Date) is really nice with more FT Triple songs like Love Letter (which is a really good song), but I'm buying this version because I like the photography better. ^^ |

Changed My Mind
Changed My Mind

I have heard of F.T Island way before I started listening to Korean music and that is due to the fact that they released a mini-album in Japan. Although I am a alternative/rock music fan, I didn't like their mini-album all that much. When I started listening to K-Pop a year later (thanks to TVXQ), I immediately went to check out FTI's music again, hoping this time I would like their music. But the truth is that after listening to another new single of theirs (this time, in Korean), I still didn't like their music. I have no idea why but I just didn't like the type of rock that they do and Hongki voice (at first) wasn't the type of voice I like to hear singing rock. I listened to Wonbin's last single with them and also "Jump Up" with new vocalist/guitarist SeungHyun but I still didn't like their music. That has changed with this album. When this came out, I gave FTI another try and I didn't like it at first but after the second listen, I slowly appreciated Hongki's voice (now I think he's voice is smexy) and the rest of the band's talents. I love most of the songs on this album so eventually, I bought this (otherwise I won't write a review). Somehow the songs on this album captured my attention and they seem to be better than the ones that I listened to in the past. I guess if you were like me, who wasn't a FT Island fan, then you should really give this album a listen. This album has converted me to a primadonna. :) |

I've been a fan of F.T Island for a little over a year and I must say that this is my favorite album thus far. I think a lot of people were worried that the new guitarist Seunghyun wouldn't be as good as Wonbin was, but I personally think he's doing an excellent job at filling Wonbin's spot. He brings something new to their music and that's what I love about him (and not to mention he's absolutely gorgeous, am I right? XD). My favorite tracks are 'I Hope', 'Marry Me', and 'I Knew From First Sight', but overall I really really REALLY enjoyed the album as a whole. As far as packaging goes, this album definitely impressed me. It actually looks like a book, with the photobook on the left and the cd on the right. Really cool! Beats a plain boring jewel case any day. In the end, I'm really glad I decided to purchase this album, it'll accompany on many long drives to come. |
