YesAsia Editorial Description

Originally released in 2005 on DVD and UMD, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is a CG-animated sequel to Square/Enix's seminal RPG masterpiece Final Fantasy VII. The film makes its Blu-ray debut with Complete, boasting an English-dubbed cut of the film with 30 minutes of new footage. Also included is a brand-new OAV On the Way to a Smile - Episode: Denzel, a side-story to Advent Children based on an original novel, plus Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII Compilation. Reminescence recaps the entire story of FFVII using original cutscene animation, and has been expanded to include material from FFVII: Crisis Core and FFVII: Dirge of Cerebus. Complete also comes with trailers for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII games, including the main RPG plus side games Agito and Versus.

As eagerly awaited as any theatrical feature, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children represents a landmark event for gamers everywhere. FFVII: Advent Children is not only a sequel to arguably the most popular Final Fantasy game ever, but it's a state-of-the-art computer animated film boasting over an hour of fully rendered CG animations that draw the viewer directly into the mythic Final Fantasy world! Many of the series' most beloved characters will be making a return for FFVII: Advent Children, and they've all been given stunning character redesigns by famed Final Fantasy character designer Nomura Tetsuya.

The setting is two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII. The once-prosperous city of Midgar has been reduced to ruins by the conflict between rebel group Avalanche and corporate power Shinra, who once sought to monopolize the world's power supply at the cost of the planet's very future. The people of Midgar are still recovering, but a mysterious disease called Geostigma is removing hope as it quietly takes their lives. In the midst of this, former Avalanche member Cloud Strife returns from self-imposed solitude to once again take up the mantle of hero...

Whoa... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I'm reviewing for the US release.
With FFVII Advent Children Complete, there are so many improvements! The graphics, the detail, the voice acting... as well as the extended or added scenes.

When I first saw AC in English, I was cringing the whole time. Don't deny it, most of the voice actors brought no life to the characters, and it was painfully obvious that the dubbing was off. As well, the story had almost no backbone. I mean, even I played and beat FFVII for the PlayStation over and over, but that still left me confused as to what the actual plot line was.

With Complete, you experience Denzel's story; how he was orphaned and how he came to live with Cloud and Tifa. Flashbacks of Zack happen more often, with several cut scenes from Crisis Core. Also, added dialogue and extra scenes (which look TERRIFFIC, if I do say so myself) help with forming the story of Advent Children, and play it out much more easier for a person who has never played FFVII before. Aside from adding story, may I just say that the added scenes are just freakin' awesome? Eye candy that you could watch over and over again.

Moving on to detail, which I found critics complained about the most. There is battle wounds, ladies and gents! BATTLE WOUNDS! When Reno gets socked in the face by Loz, his nose is bleeding! haha.
Oh, and I won't mention anything about the battle with Sephiroth... it's just too darn EPIC to describe right now, you gotta see it for yourselves.

Luckily, I own a PS3, and was able to watch the glorious re edited version of AC. It belongs on BlueRay, not only are the new scenes stunningly beautiful and realistic, but the original scenes have been polished to perfection.
Most of the scenes were re dubbed and are watchable now, and for that I was grateful.

IHFUWGJ OMG, what are you waiting for? go buy this movie! It'll blow you away, i guarantee ;D

Absolutely Fabulous! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
THE best animated movie i've ever seen... Probably a little hard to understand for those who never played the game but worth it for the beautiful graphics... Different from Square's other movie, this one is NOT the least bit boring and has many fascinating fighting scenes... The price in YesAsia is not that different from other countries...
