OST made right

This is just a smashing piece of final fantasy songs that comes on 4 cd's! Every single song that is in the game can be found here and even a few that is not in the game. Personally I think this is one of the best final fantasy soundtracks to date. The sound is crystal clear and makes good use of your hi-fi equipment to let you inside this massive world they have created. I got the limited edition box of this collection so I frankly don't know how the regular edition will be but the downside on this one (as with all soundtracks comming out of Japan) is that as always there is no info. regarding titles in english only japaneese. the booklet that follows this box is also printed in japaneese so for us that don't understand this its kinda useless, but it comes with some very nice pohotographs to rest the eyes on. Over all this is surly a game soundtrack that should be owned and my bet is that even people that has not played this game themselves can still enjoy the songs on this. Everything from heavy battlehyms to more peacefull songs are collected here. Get the translated song titles of the net to solve the prolem with japaneese characters and your fine. thx square for making another stunning release. |

Excellent FF Soundtrack

First i wanted to thank yesasia. My copy arrived this morning and it only took 4 days to germany. Perfect service! The package of the Soundtrack is very nice. A must have for Final Fantasy fans and vgm-collectors. I think Hitoshi Sakimoto is as good as Nobue Uematsu. My favorite songs so far are the Boss Battle, The Empire Theme, Ozmone Fields and the incredible Chocobo Theme :) I will change the cd's the whole day. Bye ^_^ |

Sakimoto scores a great one!

I've been following Sakimoto's work for a while since 'Final Fantasy Tactics' and 'Vagrant Story' came out, completely spell-binding me. Everyone knows that when he came in to take over Uematsu's role, he had some big shoes to fill. Did he succeed? In my mind, he did. The reason for the large 10 rating is because so far, I've heard no duds or poor tracks. Also, Sakimoto had managed to enfuse his style perfectly with that of Uematsu's music, while turning out some impressive tracks of his own. His boss battle music is just as good as his VS or FFT ones, and the orchestral style is majestic and beautiful. I can't see this OST going down (too) badly in FF's history, simply because the music fits so many different moments and moods. (That, and I'm a big Sakimoto fan). At last, we get to the packaging. The box is slick and shiny, with sharp graphics and the way how the CDs are printed - very nice colors - and folded within the limited edition box is nice. The 28-page booklet has this interesting texture along with interviews, tracklist, and character pictures - all of which make nice eye-candy. The hefty size of the entire package makes for an awesome display, especially with the judges staring out at you. With all of the limited edition soundtracks coming out of Square-Enix, this one is a must-buy for the classically-intuned and Sakimoto-following fans. For hardcore Uematsu fans, this might not suit them, as it is uniquely dissimilar. |
