An entertaining television series for all ages, Mainland period drama The Five Disciples of Master Wang follows the adventures of famous Canton hero Huang Fei Hong and his five renowned disciples. All with distinct personalities and martial arts strengths, disciples Liang Kuan, Pork Rong, Ghost Leg Seven, Bucktooth Su, and Xiao Yue are also familiar figures in folklore, and they serve as the main focus of this series. Their battle against bad guys and the illicit opium trade, as well as various conflicts of the heart, play out in whirl of action, drama, comedy, and special effects. The five disciples are played by Hong Kong stars Kent Cheng and Max Mok (reprising roles they once played in the Once Upon a Time in China film series), Mainland actors Hong Yan and Gao Tian, and Hung Yan Yan, doing double duties as actor and action director.

In this excellent action drama, renowned kung-fu master Wang Fei Hung is the victim of a plot by the ruthless opium dealer ying, who accuses Wang of being an opium dealer as a way to hide his own devious dealings. Wang's five disciples must join forces to bring Ying and his fellow hooligans to justice in order to save their beloved master and to uphold the honor of the "Po Chi Lam" Clinic.
