The victim is May (Wang), a sweet girl who walks with a limp due to one of her legs being longer than the other. Soon, he falls in love with May, but she's slow to return his affection. She'd better make up her mind quick, though, because her buxom, flirty cousin (Nina Li) has her eyes on Joe, too! Fractured Follies is an antidote to those weaned on Chow Yun Fat's violent gangster films, and shows off a side of the actor that's usually unseen. Instead of the suave, debonair personality he's known for, Chow portrays a likable, nerdy fellow who engages in a sweet romance with the gorgeous Joey Wang. 　　游江南（黃霑）因被堂兄（黃一飛）所騙，購下一殘舊不堪的金堡超級市場，南大受打擊，變得略帶瘋癲，家庭重擔因此落在天生有腳患的女兒阿May身上。May在一次交通意外被梁少祖（周潤發）駕駛的的士撞傷，祖因內疚在超級市場幫May，May對人有戒心，時常對祖大發脾氣，但祖也忍下，May外婆甚欣賞祖為人，並有意撮合二人。

　　May有表姐紅菱（利智）認識祖後，對他百般痴纏，祖不為所動，反惹起May之醋意。另一方面，祖有兄梁少海（王青）又暗戀菱，因知菱喜歡祖，一直不敢表態，海既愛慕菱，故多次匿名送花，暗中跟蹤菱，欲找機會相告，怎知卻被菱誤為神秘色魔……

　　Since Gannon (James Wong) has been swindled of his life savings by his scheming cousin on a ruined site, his crippled daughter May (Wong Tsu Hsien) takes up the hard task of turning the premise into a supermarket. May is injured in a traffic accident caused by taxi-driver Joe (Chow Yun Fat) who assumes his reckless driving has made May a cripple. He then volunteers to help her to set up the supermarket, Love blossoms. Joe sells his taxi in order to invest in the supermarket, forcing his brother, Sea (Wong Ching), and sister, Cher (Law Ming Chu) to work there too......
