Franklin the turtle, the beloved children's book star, gets his own holiday special in which he learns quite a few things about the spirit of Christmas. Heading out to spend the holiday with his family at Grandma and Grandpa's Faraway Farm, an ice storm suddenly hits, causing Grandpa to take a bad fall. Sent home to get help, Franklin and his younger sister begin a journey that finds the two siblings making new friends as they trek home to get Dr. Bear and try to get back to Faraway Farm before Christmas has come and gone.
