Every Little Thing's "Fundamental Love"- Mochida Kaori Enchants with High-Pitched Vocal "Nostalgia" Does the black heart featured on the latest single "Fundamental Love" of the Japanese group Every Little Thing (ELT) symbolize the sorrowful theme of their title track? Actually the upbeat tempo of this promotion song for the Japanese confectionery manufacturer Morinaga & Co. Ltd can already help answer the question with a definite "no". Arranged by ELT's Ito Ichiro with his electric guitar, "Fundamental Love" can indeed cheer you up with its allegro rock & roll tune. The characteristically high-pitched rendition of ELT's vocalist Mochida Kaori can also be found from the very beginning of this single. Generally most of their music fans have already accepted and even been impressed by her unique singing style which is sometimes almost like off-key. The live version dated 14th June 2003 of "Nostalgia" can also be found on this single accompanied by the playing of electric guitars together with the electric stringed music and the digital piano. Of course the most impressive element is still the attractive vocal of Mochida Kaori. Recommended Track: " Nostalgia " Reviewed by Lewis Tse (Hong Kong) Translated by Holly (Hong Kong) |

| i was able to sample the PV (promotional video) of this single CD before its release. i had it on loop for about 2 hours, in mono, not stereo. i get hooked easily with ELT songs. it starts out with a familiar ELT style chorus fans know of, very fast-moving. its a good song to play while driving. the use of synthesizer is no surprise, though i would have prefered if it as done with drums. the pace of the music is very similar to Grip!, which is another ELT single. fans of ELT, including myself will appreciate this release. i can't wait to get my hands on the cd at the end of the month. very higly recommended, for all Japanese music fans. |
