In the 2009 Mainland comedy Gasp, Ge plays Li, an upstart in the rising economic power of China who is having more than his fair share of personal crises, opposite Savage's failed American businessman Frank who is also at his wits' end. Gorgeous Taiwan actress Kelly Lin (Written By) stretches her comic ability appearing in various outrageous images as Li's fashion-challenged secretary. Written and directed by Zheng Zhong (Baober in Love scriptwriter), Gasp is a biting satire of the human tendency to be overly pessimistic. Frank's family business is on the verge of bankruptcy, and in desperation he goes to China trying to con Li into buying his worthless company. What he doesn't know is that Li is actually in a worse situation than he is. Chased by debtors every day, Li has a crazy fat wife and a weird son at home, and his recent body check revealed a suspicion of cancer. Both men try to conceal their problems and maintain a rich and happy facade to wildly hilarious results!
