Renowned photographer Kurigami Kazumi makes his directorial debut with the edgy and enthralling suspense thriller Gelatin Silver, Love. Not surprisingly, photography figures heavily into the film, and the phrase "gelatin silver" in the title actually refers to a photographic process for black-and-white film. Kurigami brings a very strong visual aesthetic to the film, capturing a dangerous romance and suspense that begin through the camera lens. Nagase Masatoshi (Mystery Train) plays a photographer hired to secretly follow a mysterious woman (Miyazawa Rie, Hana). Observing and shooting photos of her day in and day out from an apartment across from hers, he slowly becomes obsessed with her, and even attempts to get information about her from his client (Yakusho Koji, Retribution). One day, he snaps a strange photo of the woman at a car wreck. Soon after, he hears about a serial murder case...
