Manga and Anime favorite, Tetsujin 28, or Gigantor to English-speaking audiences, gets the big screen treatment in this live action adventure for the whole family. Adapted from Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Manga Tetsujin 28 Go, director Togashi Shin's film opens with Tokyo under attack from the hugely powerful mecha, Black Ox, a seemingly unstoppable giant robot hell-bent on the city's total destruction. There is but one hope for the people of Tokyo - Tetsujin 28, the iron giant.

However, the robot has been rusting away for the past sixty years, inactive since its warehouse was bombed at the end of World War II. The inventor's son, now a father himself, leads his own young boy down to the secret bunker. He shows little Shotaro the robot and, handing him the remote control device, announces that Shotaro must be the one to pilot the giant robot and save the city from Black Ox. But little Shotaro is a wimp and a coward and practically collapses with fear at this announcement.

Can Shotaro really rise to the challenge? Can he learn how to control Tetsujin 28 before the city is completely destroyed? Can he really defeat Black Ox and secure Tokyo's fate? Find out in this nostalgic fantasy adventure that will delight Gigantor fans, both old and new.

ストーリー：
幼い頃に父親を亡くした小学6年生の金田正太郎は、今は母親と2人暮らし。そんなある日、東京に突如として巨大ロボット、ブラックオックスが現われて街を破壊する。その直後、綾部と名乗る老人が正太郎の前に現われ、正太郎の祖父たちが研究していたロボット"鉄人28号"の存在を告げる。綾部は、「鉄人を操縦してブラックオックスを倒せるのは、直感像素質を持った正太郎以外にいない」と言うのだが…。
