Good Dreams, or are they?

After hearing the masterpiece that was Penalty Life, I wasn't sure if Good Dreams was going to live up to that standard. And sure enough, it falls just slightly short (ooooo, that hurts!). Good Dreams is awesome in it's own right though(he**, Walking on the Spiral, Sono Mirai wa Ima, Good Dreams, and Rosy Head have earned a place in my heart.) What makes Good Dreams fall short of Penalty Life, you ask? I can't exactly say, but personally, I enjoyed the retro 50's sound of PL. In it's own right though, Good Dreams is a very "Good". Less melodic than last time, it's definetly a sure hit for a Pillows fan or a new comer. |

better than the last few
| penalty life was good, and turn back was a bit below par, but this album more than makes up for them. this album starts off hard and keeps going through song after song of that emblematic pillows-sound. following the trend that started sometime in 2003, this album is very melodic and even quite technical in some parts-- truly the best in recent years. |

CAN YOU FEEL?
| This album is awesome. The Pillows never fail to amaze me. Every song of theirs' is original and they include a variety of different beats. If you're a Pillows fan, you know what I mean..but even if you're not, you'll fall in love with them right away. If you don't..uh..sorry my friend. They're like the Japanese Pixies, the Japanese Beatles..they're absolutely brilliant. If you want to listen to something absolutely mind-blowing, buy their new album, Good Dreams. You'll be Walkin' on the Spiral. |
