Newcomer Sherman Chung has received the royal treatment from her record label which spared no efforts to arrange her new album release announcement on a luxurious yacht. Among the celebrities who came to support her were EEG labelmates Kenny Kwan, Deep Ng, and the Sun Boyz. The winner of EEG's 2005 New Singing Talent competition, Sherman now presents her debut album, Good Girl, which comes as result of over one year of preparation. Featuring the songs "Safe Embrace" (Track 9) and "Master Strategy" (Track 3), Good Girl marks a very promising first step in Sherman's music career.

Better Arrangements Anyone? Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I actually prefer Sherman to Vincy in a general sense because I find that Vincy is too bland now. I really liked Vincy when she debuted, but now I'm already tired of her. As for Sherman, her voice is extremely strong for such a young singer.

Now let's talk about her album. Generally, the songs aren't so bad, and in fact, many tracks are fairly catchy. The downfall of it is the really annoying backups and arrangements in the fast songs. Like "Queen of the Street" (very bad translation on my part...and I think that's the song I'm thinking of) has these like stupid background things that go "shake it shake it." or whatever. It ruins a perfectly good song. I do think she has plenty of potential. I found her ballads to be very powerful and emotional. While I don't want her to become another Vincy with ballads that suffocate you, I think she really needs some well-arranged catchy songs that don't have high cheese factor.

She has the potential to become a great (and popular) singer. Now if only the songs she gets to sing would help her on that path...

Overall, an okay debut album. I like "Safe Embrace", "Let's Pop", "Master Strategy", and "Legend of the Mermaid pt 1" (?) the best. These really do show her ability to do both fast and slow songs and have a lower cheese factor than the rest. I say the album's worth a try cause her voice is fantastic, but please keep an open mind to the terrible arrangements...

I LOVE SHERMAN Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
sherman is an amazing singer that cannot be found easily in hong kong these days. her voice cannot be compared to vincy's voice because their styles are totally different. i understand vincy's style might be more acceptable in hong kong people's view, since she has a sweet voice and picked very general type of k pop songs. therefore comparisons cannot be made between two very special singers.
sherman has a very unique voice that has the shadow of christina a. i believe she will stand out in the girl's crowd of 2007. She is also very talanted and wrote her first song (track no.7). i agree that her songs might sound weird n funky at first but after listening to it a few times (give it a try), you will start to like it. Sherman's styles of songs might be hard to accept for most hk people but i believe there would be mani good listerners that will support her!

here i recommend LET'S POP and TRACK no.7 + 9

and im just curious. why does everyone hate EEG?
yes, i too have heard many rumours abut the company but how many of the rumours are not crazily exaggerated? i believe people should not pick on the singers just because of their companies. HATE the companies but never ignore the good and talented singers! :)

pretty much a horrible album... vincy was second place and she was supposedly first? EEGs lame attempt in trying to create a "fast tempo" singer... but the songs are really bad
