Grandia III promises to please fans of the Grandia franchise thanks to the return of the production crew from the original game. Hidenobu Takahashi, director of part 3 and art director for part 2, and Noriyuki Iwadare, compiser of the background music, this time are joined by the character designer of Valkyrie Profile to bring you more adventures, drama, danger, and dreams in an epic RPG setting.
The series' well-known battle system returns with some added tweaks. Known as the Ultimate Action Battle system, Grandia's battles combine menu-based command input with high-speed presentation and surprisingly deep strategy. New to this title is the aerial combo system and the Strategy Advice System (SAS). Used in conjunction with the Ultimate Action Battle System, this system allows you to strengthen your party members by sending text-based messages during battles to your teammates. As one would expect from a Square/Enix game, Grandia III promises amazing graphics and a detailed, epic storyline with plenty of dramatic cutscenes.

広大なペリオン海を囲む三大陸からなる世界の片隅にあるティタロス島。そこに平和だけがとりえの静かな村アンフォグがあった。村の一角に建てられた質素なガレージから金属音がこだまする。“飛行王シュミット”に魅せられた少年は、自らの飛行機を作ることに情熱を注いでいた。「いつかあの広い海を越え、大陸へたどり着く！」飛行機乗りの魂である「フライトユニット」を胸に抱え、その瞳は“まだ見ぬ空の果て”をまっすぐに見つめていた。少年の名はユウキ。
闇夜を切り裂く一閃の火矢！追っ手を振り切らんと、馬車は猛烈に森を駆ける。「アークリフへ・・・！」ただその想いだけが、少女を恐怖に立ち向かわせていた。運命の神人（コミュート）、少女の名はアルフィナ-。
いまはまだ見知らぬふたり。だが、世界が壊れはじめるとき、その未来はひとつにかさなってゆく･･･。
