Grey

"Grey" was the start of the rising profile of Sandy Lam Yik-lin. Although she already sung for two years, it's not only until she changed her image, and her singing voice gone from a kiddie voice to a more mature mezzo-soprano voice that she's taken seriously as a singer with potential and gaining the growing popularity she truly deserves. 1 1/2 years ago, TVB's "J.S.G. Best 10 Awards Presentation 1987" was re-programmed for our viewing on Jadeworld's TVBJ. I saw this lady with permed curly hair receiving an award from Lawrence Cheng Dan-sui and then singing her award-winning song "Grey". She's Sandy Lam. I can't wait to purchase this ground-breaking album. |

Indisputably Excellent.
Indisputably Excellent.

The current state of Chinese pop is stale, boring, and totally unoriginal. Every talent is either studio recycle-junk or disappointing hype. Sandy, along with other 80s pop divas like Sally, Jenny, Paula, etc., is one of the legendary talent that certainly sustain her vocal power. This album is so wonderful in every aspect: the lyrics are fun, the sound is very enjoyable, and the voice is indisputably strong and powerful. Sandy's fans! Buy this album while it is still out there! |

I bought this album, in cassette form, back in 1987. I listened to the tape for years until it wobbled so bad that I regretably had to dispose of it. Sadly, I looked and looked for the CD version. None available, until now. Without a single second thought, I bought the album as soon as I saw it here. Even for the umpteem times, the music still has the same magic on me -- both nostalgically and happily. Every single track is very listenable. Sandy Lam is a rare artist with quality, first-rate music. Thank you Sandy for the memories! |
