A very worthy successor to Onizuka's previous adve

With GTO being the widely acclaimed series it so rightly deserves to be, I find it a shame that SJG and Bad Company are only read as 'background' rather than in their own right. (At least in the West.) However, this volume makes it clear exactly why the series is so popular. Onizuka is still the same crazy guy (although I must say I did prefer his distinctive Regent haircut) and how he fits into his new role as an educator is nothing short of the funniest manga you're ever likely to read. This issue sets the tone for the entire series: hilarious and unique. A must buy, whether you're a fan of SJG or a new manga reader. |
