Gundam Z now comes with a Gundam Mk-II and Z Gundam silver coins and a mouse pad! This version also includes a colored battleship model, limited to 999 worldwide, all numbered. The discs and the extras are packed in a special deluxe boxset.
2005 saw the celebration of Zeta Gundam's 20th anniversary, and its popularity has only increased with time. As compared to Gundam 0079 first released in 1979, Zeta Gundam features updated animation and character designs and also some surprising new scenes. Directed by Tomino Yoshiyuki and with character designs from Yasuhiko Yoshikazu, both creators of Gundam 0079, the Zeta Gundam promises anime fans another fantastic experience. Anime masters, including Okawara Kunio, Nagano Mamoru, and Fujita Kazumi, take care of the robots' mechanical designs.
It has been seven years since the end of the One Year War, but the seeds of war are still planted deep within mankind. The Earth Federation has grown corrupt, and has organized an elite fighting force called "The Titans" to quell any opposition. But the Titans' cruelty grows to rival that of the Principality of Zeon. A resistance movement called the Anti-Earth Union Group (or A.E.U.G.) is formed to oppose them. Composed of former Zeon and even Earth Federation forces, the A.E.U.G. is about to bear witness to a new galactic war...

1985年日本SUNRISE因高達0079一片好評如潮，於是再度推出第2套的高達系列－Z高達。除了高達原作班底矢立肇、富野由悠季、安彥良和及大河原邦男外，更加入了著名機械設定大師藤田一己（超時空要塞）及永野護（五星物語），令Z高達故事內的「可變型機動戰士」及當時精細的機械畫功，均為動畫界的一大突破。雖然經已過了20年，但Z高達熱潮仍有增無減，因此SUNRISE仍不斷為Z高達籌備20週年的活動，可見此片在動畫界中的重要性。
地球聯邦政府與自護公國一年戰爭之後七年，以重建地球為名，企圖將地球據為己有的地球聯邦政府組成泰坦斯，與反聯邦組織奧干繼續對立。改名為古華多羅．班納的馬沙．亞斯洛布，潛入泰坦斯的傑普斯2號，目擊到新型機高達Mk-II。另一方面，身處傑普斯1號的少年嘉美尤．維達因與泰坦斯的尊尼．密撤中尉口角而被軍方抓去問話。最後，趁著Mk-II測試失敗混亂之際，成功地逃走，並奪取了Mk-II 3號機。由於怨恨泰坦斯的所為，嘉美尤跟隨馬沙返回亞加瑪，於是一場新的戰爭就此開始了。
