Git it up, I Yah, The way that you like me, celebrate, it's been raining since you left me, and together forever are the best songs in my opinion for this album. If you are a fan of KangTa-composed/arranged/written songs then My Girl, Celebrate, It's been raining since you left me, and together forever are the songs you would be looking into. |

Absolutely the best album!
Absolutely the best album!
| The legendary H.O.T proved how much of a legend they are with this album! Unfortunately I wasn't into kpop when they were around, but I know of their past history and impact on Korean music! This album is definitely their best album and personally my favorite album out of all music! I enjoy listening to every single track. H.O.T was also known for all of the different genres of music they did and this album definitely shows that. From the rockish feel in Tooji and Iyah! To the rap in Korean Pride! The R&B in The Way You Like Me and Celebrate! The techno in Soul! And the cuteness in Forever, song! This album is definitely worth your money and a must for any kpop fan! H.O.T truly are legends and deserve that title! Too bad that they broke up, but their legendary status will forever be passed on! H.O.T Jjang! |

Worse than their third...
Worse than their third...
| When this CD first came out, the store I buy 'em at was sold out for a long while. When I finally got my hands on a copy, with so many tracks and all, I was shocked at how mindless it sounded. Their 3rd was weird, but at least you could get used to it somewhat. This was even more disorganized. They didn't know when to scream, rap, sing, howl, or talk (skits). Some skits were OK, but there were only a couple of worthwhile songs (NOT any of their "metal rap"). I think #7 was OK. Otherwise, ugh... |

life-changing album
|
Clearly, the one song that received the most clout from this album was "Iyah!" (by Yoo Young Jin). Yoo Young Jin had worked with H.O.T throughout their entire career, creating a pathway to their success by writing many excellent songs from H.O.T's previous albums. This song, no doubt, is the one song that can distinguish H.O.T from the rest of the k-pop squad. The lyric had many implications toward the criticism of the modern society, and I think that this is what makes H.O.T extremely special. Although their daily routine may not consists of criticizing this society every other second, they are not afraid to express their opinions through singing. Unlike most of the musical artists, H.O.T shows a substantial amount of importance for songs that are not sappy/mellow. They actually have meaningful songs that are worth listening to. In addition, Hee Jun has created "Tooji" to parallel "Iyah!" on this album. He usually places focus on a specific issue - in this case, war. Another great aspect of H.O.T's musical talent comes from their music videos. They are usually very direct with the main theme, which means a person doesn't necessary need to know Korean at all (like me) to understand H.O.T's songs - all he/she has to do is watch the MV. After the above review, I just wanted to point out that I first started listening to Korean music a little after H.O.T's comeback with "Iyah!," and this album turned my life around. (I won't go into details - but it's one of those life/death situations) This album, in my opinion, is one of those key albums that can decide whether or not you can accept Korean music as a whole. Therefore, I definitely recommend those who are new to Korean music to try H.O.T's 4th album before forming a solid opinion. |
