　　江清照（溫碧霞）為夜總會知客，與妹上影（楊羚）相依為命。照雖潑辣，但心地善良，樂於助人，因此人緣甚佳。

　　一日，古板木訥的年青建築師程彥南（劉青雲）成為照的鄰居，他倆起初常鬥氣，後南發現照人格可貴，對她改觀，兩人更由冤家變成情侶。惟南因照的職業，而對此情遲疑不決。照傷心不已，終離開了南。

　　三年後，照擺脫夜總會生涯，並發奮讀書，成為一位秘書。照的轉變，能否令她與南復合，終成眷屬？

註：由於母帶已製作經年，故在製作VCD的過程中，必須進行調色、重新配樂及剪輯等後期工作。但所有後期工作均在有必要的情況下進行，並以不影響劇情為原則。
