　　自小失去雙親的五歲小女孩凱迪由姨母照顧。由於姨母要到別處工作，凱迪便去投靠住在山上且性情古怪的爺爺。凱迪的純真及率直性格感動了爺爺，她更與山上一牧童彼得成為好朋友…突然有一天，凱迪被迫前往德國的法蘭克福當上一位不能走路的富家小姐的玩伴。

　　This is the story of Heidi, a five-year old girl living in the Swiss Alps, orphaned as an infant and raised by her aunt Dete. When Dete finds work elsewhere, she takes Hieidi to live with her Grandfather, a hermit who lives alone on a mountain with only two goats and an old dog for company. Heidi’s innocence softens her Grandfather’s heart, and she finds adventures every day up on the mountain with the poor goatherd Peter. But, eventually, Heidi is taken to live with a rich family in Frankfurt as the companion of a wheelchair-bound girl, Clara.

　　自小失去雙親的凱迪是一位活潑可愛的五歲小女孩。她來到阿爾卑斯山，開始了和性格孤僻的爺爺的新生活。突然有一天，凱迪被迫前往德國的法蘭克福當上一位不能走路的富家小姐克拉娜的玩伴。離鄉別井的凱迪一時不能適應城市的生活，加上嚴厲的管家，令凱迪喘不過氣。凱迪最終跟克拉娜建立了深厚的友誼。
