Beast present a highly polished mini album with beast is the best. The packaging is absolutely massive and reminds me of G-Dragon's heartbreaker! The booklet is simply fantastic with lots of nice photos of the guys but enougth about the packaging what about the album itself. Beast pack on their CD a whole host of catchy electro, wrap, pop songs but there is one little thing that bothers me ..... they are soooooo similliar to BigBang, a little too similliar. Their music is good but perhaps a little unorginal. Even the band members themselves LOOK like the BB boys. As I flip through the photobook I can't help but think that Yoon Du Jun is VI, Young Jun Hyung is Sol, Jang Hyun Seung is D Lite, Lee Gi Kwang is TOP, Yang Yo Seop is GD but Son Dong Woon is a little added bonus..... I don't know if this is the record company trying to cash in on BB's success by visually and musically copying them but whatever Beast need to stand away from whats already out there if they are going to go the distance! The first song Y.O.U is so relaxing and the boys really show off their vocal talents but then the next track knocks your socks off with it's fast beats and addictive lyrics. It is so different from the first track but equally impressive. Another song to mention is Get Down a heavy beat with a gangster rap feel that again shows another side to this band although I recommend that you don't play it while driving as it really makes you wanna drive real fast but it has some siren affects going on and every time I hear it I think the police are after me for speeding of something!!!! oh dear:) Anyway I can't believe how talented and versatitle this group are, I only hope that they release a full length album really soon as they are some serious contenders in the k-pop boy band battle!!!!!!! Mirotic is highly addictive album with a collection fo utterly catchy tracks such a mirotic, wrong number, you're my melody, are you a good girl and love in the ice. However on the flip side, as I find with all TVXQ albums I am less keen on their ballads. Don't get me wrong I love a good ballad but songs like picture of you and rainbow annoy me for some reason, I just don't think they match the standard and orginiality of the other tracks on the album. However overall this is one must own album, and this particluar edition is fantastic. It comes in a lovely display box that is quite big and you also get a nice photobook of the guys posing topless which lets face it is always nice to see!!!!! :)

So I never know what to expect from a TVXQ album. Unfortunately secret code had more songs that I disliked than ones I liked. Tracks like purple line (a bonus track in this collection), 9095, mirotic, survivor and bolero were very good others in particular kiss the baby sky I had the skip before I even listened to it the whole way through .... oh dear. Overall all I think the guys are great at powerful songs that stretch their vocal skills rather than their somewhat 'wet' ballads like beautiful you.
The DVD with this collection I must say is well worth the money .... you get highlights from one of their concerts which is very impressive ( I recommend their performance of rising sun....max really sings well here). You also get a collection of music videos some of which were great like Mirotic and survivor, some which were less good like .... that's right, you guessed it .... kiss the baby sky and beautiful you!!!

I agree with you Min that you shouldn't compare them to BB beacuase they really are nothing like them but I was just following on from previous reviewers who had compared the two groups. Their music is fresh, modern and well executed. They make the most out of the particluar vocal talents of each member, which is pretty impressive for a group with 13 members! Highlight include sorry sorry, it's you, reset, angela, monster and club No 1.
This version also comes with two music videos and making of footage. The music video for pumping track sorry, sorry is fantastic and if your like me you will be dancing along with it in no time. The second video is for catchy ballad It's You which better shows you each member of the group. Overall this is one hell of a albnnum and I would easily put it in a list of top ten albums to own in 2009!

This single conatins the thumping ballad ko wo kikasete and the party/ club anthem oh la yeah. Both songs are yet again instant classics and will have you playing them over and over again. In addition the music video contained and the DVD is stunning showing the guys in all their hotness in various urban locations and in some mega jucy outfits .... very nice ... appriciate the close ups on GD and TOP!!!!!!! :) You also get a little making of film which although not subtitled in English will have you wetting yourself with laughter .... key bits include D-Lite's wasp attack, GD and VI's Kung Fu fighting, TOP's shaky leg night dance and GD and VI sexy dancing that is topped off with SOL smacking VI's butt!!!! Nice work lads!!!!!
In addition to this you also get a super cute SOL rubber keychain that is much larger than I thought it would be and it a nice added bonus!!!!!!

After reading the positive reviews I immediately brought a copy. However I have to say that Bigbang these girls are not. Now don't get me wrong their songs are okay, none of them are terrible but only two of them stand out as something original and different the first being Pretty Boy and the second Lollipop, alhtough I think I only really like Lollipop because suprize, suprize it features Bigbang!!!!! To me these girls don't really push the boundries or try to do something new and fresh, there songs sound the same and although they are perfectly fine songs they don't go that extra mile to being brilliant. I also think that only two of the group are really good singers, I think its CL and Dara, the other two don't seem to really come across in the songs and I think that CL is a better singer than rapper. Overall these girl's look great (a good photo book is included) but I don't think they sound great ... just yet! This is only their first mini album so there is plenty of time for them to perfect their sound and image....good luck to them I say but give me the Bang boys any day!!!! I was expecting some sort of shiney, plastic material due to the 'parka' description it is given. Anyway.... this is a fantastic piece of Ayu memoribila, the graphics and colours being strong and bold against the white. Size wise I take a UK 10/ 12 Size and I fit into this hoodie with room to spare so judging from that it would fit a UK 12 comfortablily and a UK 14 would probably get into it too. Length wise I did find it a little on the short side so its more of a cropped hoodie but that depends on your own height really. October 9, 2009 Must have album of 2009This is the first Bigbang album I have brought and I have one thing to say.....
BIG BANG ROCKS
I honestly love, love, LOVE this album and I don't say this lightly. The tracks on it are all massive hits and feature a range of different moods from pop ballads such as My Heaven, chilled club tracks like Love Club to all out party, headbanging, dancing around your living room, driving fast in your car classics like Gara Gara Go!!!!!
I think out of the whole album there is only one song, Baby Baby that I think is just okay, all the others are fantastic!
In addition is the DVD thats documentary footage (sorry no English subtitles though) of the lads out and about in Tokyo and two music videos one for My Heaven in which G Dragon and T.O.P look especially HOT and the Psychedelic Gara Gara Go in which the boys have fantastic costume change after fantastic costume change!
The packaging for the CD is also quite pleasing. Its holographic and comes with a very nice booklet featuring great double page spreads dedicated to each member.
All in all this album (although maybe a little pricey) is a must have for yhour music collection, unlike any other boy band certainly in the UK and probably worldwide Bigbang are talent, versatile and just plain gorgeous!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

October 9, 2009 I Heart HeartbreakerI brought this album not knowing anything about G Dragon or Bigbang, I just thought the cover looked good so I took a gamble.....and hey I hit the jackpot.
Heartbreaker is a completely refreshing album being a mixture of electro pop, hip hop and R & B. Think La Roux meets Kanye West meets Dizzy Rascal meets Lady Gaga (sorry if you don't know some of these artists as they may be just UK based). Yep Heartbreaker has it all from soft drifty ballads with rap elements, banging tunes worthy of any killer club and upbeat pop anthems perfect for driving real fast to!!!! In truth there really isn't one song on this album that I dislike but of course highlights include heartbreaker, breathe, butterfly and she's gone. For a English speaker G Dragon's mixture of Korean and English works perfectly allowing you to sing along with most the coruses while trying to the rap along to the korean parts (I apologise to any Korean speakers who happen to here me do this cause I am really bad!!!)
As for the presentation of the CD, what can I say but its something that is truely amazing and put any normal jewel cd case to shame! The cover is a plastic mini mould of GD's face, yes GDs face for you to idolize, its a piece of art in its own right!!!! Then you get a lovely booklet showing GD in all his hottness in a range of fantastic clothes (I really want that phone jacket!!!!) looking all cool and moody!!!!
Overall from the presentation to the music itself G Dragon's Heartbreaker is my album of 2009 and its beats anything that has been in the UK and Europe charts this summer!

I brought G Dragon's new album simply because the cover looked great and boy I made one hell of a great move as not only is Heartbreaker one of the top albums of 2009 it introduced me to the BigBang universe!!!!
Okay so to this concert! Firstly the packaging is really worth every penny! The cover has a mini stage with 3d models of the fab five. It includes 3 discs, yes that's 3 DISCS featuring 2 versions of the concert and extra bonus footage. AND to cap it all off you get a chunky glorious full colour photo booklet!!! WOW!!!
The concert itself is amazing. These guys really know how to work the audience and the costumes and song choices are fabulous. The boys do a combination of group and solo performances so you get a good taste of each individual member as well as the full force of the bang! The highlight has to be when they get a girl from the audience to come on the stage ....L...U...C...K...Y !!!!!
Another nice feature is the fact that the concert has English subtitles, so when the boys do there talking to the audience bit us English speakers know what's going on (Ayumi Hamasaki DVD makers take note!!!!!)
All in all from the concert itself and the actual presentation of this DVD collection Big Show is a Big Success! I just wish the boys would come over to the UK and Europe to brighten up the charts over here!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

April 7, 2009 Ayu's best album EVER !?!Having been disappointed by Ayu’s last album Guilty I was very anxious about her new album, but having heard it I have one thing to say …. this album is possibly Ayu’s best work! Now I know that’s a bold thing to say considering the fantastic collection of songs she has already released but this album truly shows us Another Level to Ayu’s talent. Aside from a few ballads most songs are 80s electro pop, foot stompers, head bangers, speaker blowing anthems!!!! This is really a completely new direction for Ayu and if you like her remix/ trance albums you are really going to love this one! In addition the music videos are some of the best I’ve seen! From the 40s China look in GREEN to the fetish/ 80s pop chart look (yes fetish AND 80s pop chart) in Sparkle each video shows us another wonderful side to this already multi-talent artist! The DVD features a wide range of her songs from past and present although it would have been nice if Starin' and Beautiful Fighters had been included. The set is similliar to the one seen in her Countdown Tour 2006-2007 having a Moulin rouge theme, all gold and elegant. Her costumes, as ever are beathtaking as are her dance routines.
The major differnece here is that the performance and the behind-the-scences documentary are not on seperate discs as normal. Instaad the DVDs are arranged so that you see a little documentary, a few songs, documentary, songs and so on. This is quite a nice break as you can see a specific part of the performance and then directly afterwards see the thinking behind it, the rehersal and ayu running to her next costume change.
The DVD itself is well packaged with a rather snazzy cardboard outter slipcase and a lovely booklet containing photos and lyrics.
Although not my favouite tour DVD (I prefer Miss Understood) Secret is nevertheless another great edition to your Ayu library. I can't wait until they finally release her countdown 2007-2008 dvd!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

March 25, 2008 Hidden JemJade Valerie is undoubtedly a hidden jem to the western world. She has one of the best pop voices in the industry, writes her own (frequently beautiful) lyrics and music, and is just plain goregous!!!!
Yet for some reason, despite her albums being in the English lagngauge she has yet to release her music to western audiences!!!
Now I have that off my chest I can review this album!
Its is important to note that this is a mini album being only 8 tracks long however it definiatley leaves an impression!!! There isn't a bad song on it but there are a few songs that really stand out to me, in particular Goodbye. This album is quiet different to her Sweetbox work as the the music tends to have a heavy base line and a almost clubby feel to it. Also her lyrics are often quite raw and dark.
This album is a must for any Jade fan as it gives you the chance to see a whole new side of this talented artist!!!!!

January 5, 2008 I hate to say it...Like many of you I am a avid Ayu fan and I couldn't wait for this album to come out, however I unfortunately have to say I found it quite dissapointing. Most the songs are rock and there isn't really a strong ballad as found on her other albums. The only song that really stood out for me was Talkin to Myself. I also found the music videos to be fairly ordinary. I loved the ones for Step you, Ladies Night and Alterna but there wasn't one that had the same, unusual quality apart from maybe Marionette. And what's with Ayu's hair, she has had it cut like Victoria Beckham!!!! I love Ayu for her originality and creativity which sadly this album didn't really deliver for me. Havign said this I hope that once I listen to Guilty a few more times it will grow on me, and I will like it more. At the moment it is a lot like My Story which I also found dissapointing. In short if you like My Story you will love this but if you like Rainbow, Missunderstood, I Am this may not be up there amoungst your favourite Ayu albums but Guilty is a must buy for any Ayu fan nethertheless. It is a hardback book that conatins a selection of double page, double sided posters. Some are from her 2007 calander others are of various album artwork. It also contains a large poster of Ayumi's Secret album cover!!! What's more the book also includes a CD featuring some of the tracks on her new white and black best of albums AND a multi region DVD of her 2006-2007 countdown tour and a vast selection (about 10) of her music videos!!!!!
