大学院生のフィンは修士論文を仕上げるため、ひと夏を祖母の家で過ごすことにする。カリフォルニアの片田舎にある祖母の家では、女友だち達が集まって新しいキルトの製作に取りかかるところだ。それは結婚を控えたフィンに贈るウェディング・キルトだった。だが、両親の離婚を早くに経験したフィンの気持ちは揺れていて、結婚に対して懐疑的になっていた。そんなある日、祖母ハイとその姉グラディが昔話を始める。それは、夫の危篤に気が動転した祖母ハイが姉の夫に救いを求め、過ちを犯してしまったという話だった。またある日はキルト仲間のソフィアが、またある日はエムがという風に、アンナ、マリアンナ、コンスタンスとキルト作りに集まった女たちはそれぞれの恋愛話を誰からともなく語り始める。夫の浮気、愛する者の死、身分違いの叶わぬ恋、そして忘れられない人…。時には微妙な関係にギクシャクしながらも、7人の女たちはそれぞれの想いを込めて1枚のキルトを縫い上げてゆく。そしてフィンは、祖母たちの話に耳を傾けるうちに自分自身を見つめ直してゆく…。 ■映像特典：予告編
